This would be amazing

by NR_Royal » 21 Apr 2009 22:29

Just did my predictor again. Look how awesome the table could look on the final day.

1 Wolves 92 +31
2 Reading 80 +34
3 Sheff U 80 +25
4 Cardiff 80 +18
5 Birmingham 80 +14
6 Burnley 78 +11

Now that would be a great day. :D

For that to happen, we would need:

Birmingham to lose at home to Preston
Us to beat Norwich
Sheffield to draw against either Swansea or Crystal Palace
and of course us to beat Birmingham.

Fairly tall order, I think. But it can be done!

Sheffield United away at Warnock's club on the last day. I wonder which way that game will go

I wouldn't be surprised by a closely related scenario. We rubbish Norwich while Brum snag a point v. Preston. We then run riot over Birmingham rather like last year's final day, already knowing it's too late. Fail to get auto-pro by one measly, crappy point - one of those idiotic home defeats dragged out to a dull and uninspiring draw for example.

We might know Saturday.

BUT if results go our way (Birmingham lose is all that really matters to give us the big chance) then we go to Norwich needing the win to set up a great last day

Win two, Cardiff don't matter. Sheffield have a horrendous finish coud get neel-pwan

I couldn't get to sleep last night thinking about all this

but tbh it's unlikely. Brum should get the home point to thwart us.

And to think that before last night I was hoping Brum and Sheff U would beat PNE and Swansea, to ensure we got in the playoffs.

As our game against Norwich is on Monday we will know exactly where we stand then.

A win at Norwich may be irrelevant.

I hardly call a trip to a safe Palace and Sheff Utd fan Neil Warnock on the last day of the season horrendous.
