Some old fella left his pipe burning causing the whole north stand to evacuate onto the pitch whilst the players waiting in the penalty area - i remember shaking Shakas hand whilst he paced around the box (one of the few games i was in the seats for, in fact)

I was a bit shady on the Notts County bit, although it's who I thought it was, but my first thought when I saw the title was it was the game that Lovell pulled his hammy.

He only pulled it because of the break in play caused by the fire so it stands out a bit.

It stuck just in my mind because we'd been saying during the break in play that someone was bound to pull something as all the players had just been stood around not bothering to stretch or keep warmed up.

October 1994, 2-0 Reading, Lovell and Hartenberger on the scoresheet. Archie definitely tore his hamstring, and I remember later on in the season he was speaking about it on the radio saying he could feel it tightening up while the delay was ongoing and trying to stretch it, but couldn't properly because too many people were distracting him.

Anyway, yes, I was there. My first ever sojourn onto the South Bank. I never stood anywhere else after that.
