From what I can gather from the opinions of the Southampton supporter at work, Antonio is pretty much Kebe with less finesse :|

He's still very young isn't he?

Late 30's I think. Oh sorry, thought you meant my colleague.

Very droll.

Antonio is raw, but let's see how he develops, he's still very young.

TBM but 6 months before the contract ends other teams can also offer him a deal, if he accepts and is under 23 then compensation is paid.

That is also incorrect. You can only do that with trasnfers involving players playing under a different football association.

You were wrong, just admit it and take it like a man......

I never said which teams though, if someone from abroad wanted him - they could have offered him a pre-contract back in January :D

We've taken up an option in his existing contract to extend his deal by 1 year, the cynic in me says we've done this to ensure Southampton have to pay something to sign the player.

Great news. Made the jump from the Isthmian League Premier Division to League One and has excelled. Definitely one for the future and hopefully, he would make the breakthrough into the first team.

Happy for us to do so, don't want that scumbag Pardew getting him for nothing.

Not likely to cost us much, potential decent cover.

No brainer if his contract was up this year.

It's players like Bryn, Ivar, Marek, Armstrong & Cisse we'll save significant money on by letting go and who are unlikely to be missed in the first team a great deal more than the likes of Antonio.

he's also got a pretty good Rory Delap long throw, now all we need is a forward who can head the ball
