Tuck that idea away for April Fools Day then pop it up on Twitter saying that is what the club intend to doRG30 wrote:Here's an idea - sell points to supporters. It works with other schemes such as Avios. Would be a good cash generator and the meltdown alone it would cause would be worth it.

Apparently it's down to an 'adjusted ground layout' (Eastleigh website). I don't know what that means in practice - perhaps better segregation?tidus_mi2 wrote:As per James Earnshaw on Twitter, we're supposedly getting more allocation.

LOL! I looked at it a couple of times when there's been a decent game there, but gave up trying to figure out how to get there, except by driving. No beer, no fun.Green wrote:Sounds like you've attempted it a few timesmx wrote:On Google Maps it looks like it should be an easy, short walk from Airport Parkway to the ground. It isn't. Busy roads to cross, no pavements and no access from the east side of the stadium, unless you fancy climbing over ditches and fences.RG30 wrote:S
And you need to get a rail replacement bus from Winchester to Southampton Parkway or Eastleigh.
(I live not far from Eastleigh)

1 point for every £2 you spend in the clubshop? That doesn't sound too crazy to me.morganb wrote:Tuck that idea away for April Fools Day then pop it up on Twitter saying that is what the club intend to doRG30 wrote:Here's an idea - sell points to supporters. I bet they aren't expecting a few hundred extra travellers on the 50 seater bus.Trains will not call at Southampton Airport Parkway.
If you are travelling to / from Southampton Airport Parkway you should use South Western Railway buses between Winchester and Southampton Central which will call at Southampton Airport Parkway.

I imagine these engineering works are planned massively in advance of them occurring - ie. National Rail wouldn't've known Eastleigh would've been playing a sold out FA Cup match that day. They probably chose the Sunday to do the work because it was supposed to be relatively quiet on that route. I would hope they've put on an appropriate number of buses given the circumstances. Either way, I would suggest people attempt to get to Eastleigh as early as is reasonable.PieEater wrote:https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/engineer ... -20231203/RG30 wrote: And you need to get a rail replacement bus from Winchester to Southampton Parkway or Eastleigh.
This is really bad planning.

Normally I’d be all over getting the train but given the first service gets into Eastleigh just over 90 mins before KO (assuming it runs to time) then that leaves you no time to get a pint before you need to set off for the ground. One of those rare days it’s better to go in the car.Clyde1998 wrote:I imagine these engineering works are planned massively in advance of them occurring - ie.
