Personally all this African Violent nonsense is just that. The colour is nearest to a bog standard Lilac in my opinion

The new away strip is excellent, indeed both of the 2015/16 efforts look to me to be a vast improvement on some of the tat we have worn in recent seasons.

As usual though, our ever self-conscious fan base with a chip permanently on its collective shoulder seems to be more concerned on social media with what supporters of other clubs might think of us wearing 'African Violet'. Grow up, you bunch of Fairies.

Pink away shirts are a new low. Another nail in the coffin for Association Football. Do you think Robin Friday, Martin Hicks or Terry Hurlock would have worn that?

The insecure masculinity is strong with this thread.

Don't know. Yes and No.

Trevor Metalhead Morley would have loved it.

MeMeMe WTF !!!... 'African Violet' !!... what next 'Papa New Guinea Pink' or 'New Zealand Orange' !!! Lets just put a country name in front of everything to make it more palatable somehow. It's garish and embarrassing, the ridicule we will face in away games will be ' Madagascan unbearable'

Nothing new here.

Doncaster Rovers played at Elm Park in 1972 wearing African Violet. How we laughed.

And threw bananas at their full back?

No. That's a right nasty thing to insinuate.

Dunno where you were in 1972 but African Violet / Doncaster Rovers struck us a trifle pretentious for those times. How we mellowed.

I couldn't disagree more.

For me the club have made 2 kits that no one in their right mind would buy. The home kit, whilst itself is actually quite nice with a decent template, albeit slightly JJB five-a-side special, is ruined by what I think is one of the ugliest sponsors I've seen on a football shirt. The logo itself is fairly ugly but this is exacerbated by the size of the logo which looks comically small and disproportionate to the shirt.

The away kit again is a fairly nice template but the colour choice is woeful. I'm perfectly comfortable with my sexuality but what guy is going to wear lilac? Which is a concern for a majority male supported sport.

Presumably the main objective of a shirt is to produce something that is going to sell well. I would be hugely surprised if the club sell their full quota of these shirts, something which last seasons shirts did comfortably.

Everyone will love the kit if we get promoted this year.

Hard to disagree with this post tbf. I like the home shirt but the sponsor does ruin it and would stop me buying one. Away shift I like also, but just wouldn't wear it. But it's all about sponsor exposure this time around, not the fans.
