Next Seasons Kit

by Wallington Royal » 04 Apr 2010 09:41

Does anyone have inside information on next season kit. Will it still be made by Puma, sponsored by Waitrose, and when the realise date is?

I've heard the away kit will be bright yellow, like the one Sheffield United had a few years back,

We like having a third kit now, and that will be this seasons away, meaning a nice shiny new away kit for next season. Knowing us, a new home kit too - thankfully!

I think our deal with puma means new home & away kits every season.

so we are big and important enough to change our kits every season now then?

Whatever happened to that old two-season assurance

Is the change of kit led by the club or the likes of Puma though?

Not if all the kit manufacturers insist on it they don't !

I suspect playing in skins is against FIFA rules, although we could probably register our kit as 'red tops and white shorts' and buy a job lot of Man U kits from JJB !!

In a recession, a business will do its upmost to maximise its revenue streams. Ergo, a football club will change its replica kits as often as viably possible. IE every season. There are more than enough punters to justify it. No-one forces an individual to buy one. Get over it.

nothing to "get over" chum.....I haven't bought one since '94

I do remember the club (and many other clubs)...not too long ago, announcing that they would (unlike the reeeeely big teams) only change kits every two years.

as you rightly say there is freedom of choice, but what changed??

They did say this but this was quite some years back. And FTR, my comment was a general comment aimed at those who whinge then buy. Fair dos to you if you havent bought one since the mid 90s. I wish I had had the sense to do the same.

What's changed? An increase in size of our fan base for starters. Second, the shirts bought for children soon become too small. The parents will buy a new shirt - next size up the following season. So if the parents are going to buy another shirt a year later then why not change the design to increase the club's profit? Just a thought.

Kit will, as usual, be announced late June/early July.

Home shirt will be available at the prestigious home friendly a week before season starts.

Heaven forfend Reading ever decide to involve the fans in the shirt choices before the season ends. Expecting another horrible tacky load of cr*p that we'll be happy to see the back of in 2011 and this thread will be just as appropriate this time next year.
