Refreshments at Wembley

by Red » 20 May 2011 11:54

There's been a bit of talk of "Club wembley" and the champagne bars etc.

Other than this, is there any difference in catering between the different sections that could influence my decision of where to go for?

What about the bars - is there any real ale served?

I think Dirkers was on the case and gave a link to prices / selection of food on offer. Too pricey for me to bother (possibly).

OUT because they are hideously expensive. I remember going to England v Israel and noticing that a burger and drink meal deal was something stupid like £8. The burger was tiny, the drink 500ml or so.

This gives the option to see the facilities available on each level : http://www.wembleystadium.com/TheStadium/StadiumGuide

This gives Wembley's Rules & Regulations : http://www.wembleystadium.com/TheStadium/StadiumGuide/RulesnRegulations

Info about catering is in the FAQs http://www.wembleystadium.com/FAQs?s=118a5f9c-a4a4-446e-b35c-cbdfc6c5d8f1

No real ale anywhere. Catering is handled by a company called Delaware North who also do the Emirates. Food is very poor value for money. My sister bought a burger meal at England v Ghana and it was inedible. Bring sandwiches or something. I usually get a curry after matches at nearby restaurant while the queue dissipates.

Drinks wise you can get a glass of champagne in Club Wembley for £9.50 but otherwise not a great deal different unless you have a booking in one of their fancy restaurants which your ticket doesn't automatically entitle you to anyway so I'm not sure how you do that.

Don't buy anything in Wembley unless you're happy to pay over the odds.

Can't imagine for a minute that I won't sink a couple of pints of overpriced piss before the game and at half time.

I've not been for a while but I don't recall the beer prices being any worse than the MadStad - it's the food that is shockingly priced.

But then you've got all day to eat so why do it between 3-5pm in the most expensive place around

That comes as no surprise to me really GC, but yeh I'm expecting to and am reasonably happy to pay over the odds - just curious as to what I'll get. Carling probably.

Any one know if they let you out at half time for a smoke?

They don't, but I've seen quite a few people smoking at England games on the concourse.
