Forbury Lion Reading Buses have free wifi on many of their services, Maybe the club can just get them to park around the groud during the match.

The buses are only WiFi over 3G aren't they (albeit ganged perhaps) so at the end of the day the bus is having to connect to same network as everyone else..

Yeah, it certainly can be done, but read the FAQ and you'll see it's not a trivial exercise.

Q. How does Cisco Connected Stadium Wi-Fi differ from Cisco’s standard WLAN solutions?
A. Although the best practices used for deploying wireless in an enterprise still apply, Cisco Connected Stadium
Wi-Fi deployments are tailored to support a very high density of Wi-Fi devices in a relatively small area. This
environment is typically found in entertainment venues like stadiums or arenas. These are harsh environments
in which to provide good Wi-Fi service. They call for micro-cell design using highly directional antennas and
finely tuned systemwide management of the RF power levels and channel assignments across hundreds of
access points.

What you need is 4G.

Vodafone 4G gives me around 40GB download and 20GB upload at the stadium.

Same as my fibre optic broadband at home!

Well that's pretty amazing you should patent that phone as it's well above the theoretical 4G limit.

60Mb/s is about the max you'll get.

You need to get industry support for marketing your discovery. No one else has managed to squeeze that bandwidth into a 4G signal yet so you are beating the laws of physics.

Up front.. I work for Vodafone in Newbury. At home I get 31mb down and 12mb up, haven't tested at the stadium but my signal always seems good. Shout if you want 30% off a personal contract.. limited supply

I doubt it. This is a roadside cabinet for fixed line broadband by the sounds of it (serving that area) - nothing to do with wifi or mobile signal at the Mad Stad.

That looks more realistic. A data comparison shows:

Data Throughput 3G - Up to 3.1Mbps with an average speed range between 0.5 to 1.5 Mbps 4G - Practically speaking, 2 to 12 Mbps (Telstra in Australia claims up to 40 Mbps) but potential estimated at a range of 100 to 300 Mbps.

Peak Upload Rate 3G h-5 Mbps 4G - 500 Mbps

Nowhere near the high Gb levels quoted above!

EE 4G gives me enough service to check BBC live scores. Don't tend to look at anything else tbh
