The more I read about him, the more I think he might legitimately be a nice guy living out a - what turned out to be bargain-priced - childhood dream... IN A NICE WAY.

I suppose loads of money and a gorgeous wife make life easier, but that often makes an arse, not a smiling, amiable young man.

I like Windermere itself - much nicer than Bowness which is way too tourist-oriented. Decent chippy aswell down a little road in the centre.

Within five years yes, and I think it was in English football. He certainly thinks big. Lets just hope he shows patience in Brian and the coaching staff in getting us there, and doesn't panic if we hit a winless patch of 6-7 games at some point.

To be fair I would think we're pretty much there or thereabouts already. There are several teams with less financial muscle, such as Wigan, Swansea, Norwich...

Can anyone explain to me the need for 17 pitches?

That's iike, 374 people playing football at once.

EPPP I would imagine and the following explanation below (I did some work as a groundsman during school holidays at golf clubs and football clubs when I was 16-19)

Its all about rotating pitches, the players will train on different pitches every day to ensure the pitches can recover and are in perfect condition.

It may seem excessive, but think about the state of the Madejski pitch in the last few years and that's a supposedly high quality pitch with about 1-2 games (incl the Rugby) every week. Now imagine what the training ground pitches would look like, lesser quality pitches than the Madejski, being trained on every day for 2-4 hours.

Then think we have the following training every day; the keepers, 2 first teams, U21s, all the academy teams... and suddenly 17 pitches doesn't seem that excessive IF you want perfect conditions for the majority of the year.

They're not a bad account to follow in fairness to them. They don't go down the ITK route, but do occasionally get things from someone reliable and have been on the nose a few times when they put their neck on the line. Usually it's just a round-up of news, rumours and gossip.

This sounds more than likely. Anton has already said they will consider stadium naming rights at some time in the future as an extra source of revenue, and Waitrose contract is up next summer.

I know it's not favoured by many, but if it means one more decent signing every summer then I'm all for it.

The only, only way I could accept renaming the stadium is if they kept the original name too, like The Kia Oval. So, that would be The Waitrose-Madejski. Argggh. Not great, but for me, we need to keep the name of the great man who has done so much for RFC. It's our history and we shouldn't just throw it in the bin.
