Is SJM on the same level as Harry Redknapp in the realm of conmanship?

windermere_royal If this is true the SJM really will have to hang his head in shame, how can a supposed highly successful business man who has made millions get taken by a Russian conman?

The term "conman"is a big clue

So is "Russian"

Surely the latter is a clue for John, rather than us.

The silence from the club would indicate that it isn`t, all they need to do is make a statement of some kind

We haven't wracked up anywhere near as much debt as them. The worst is we have build up some debt, the squad will be sold off leaving us with kids and free's, the wage bill will be brought under control and we rely on the 'chute payments as intended. Relegation would be a likely possibility, but we've been there before.

well it would appear that this report originates from the SUN story, hardly trustworthy , all that paper is good for is wiping my arse , if SSN news reported it why didn`t they continue running the story?
But the silence from the club is deafening

All sides "comfortable" with the situation

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... er-6150616

Reading continue to say they are comfortable with how Anton Zingarevich's takeover is progressing amid speculation he is looking to sell his 51 per cent share.

The Russian, through his Thames Sport Investment (TSI) company, was due to complete the purchase of the club from Sir John Madejski by the end of last month.

He missed the deadline to buy the remaining 49 per cent, however, sparking fears he was struggling to put together the necessary funds, thought to be in the region of £25 million.

Reading have insisted, however, that there is no cause for concern and that Zingarevich and Madejski are both 'comfortable' with the situation.

That continues to be the line, despite speculation that Zingarevich is in talks with a Middle Eastern consortium about selling his share
.

The Russian is currently abroad following the birth of his first child and has not been to a game since the friendly with Oman on September 7.

They are comfortable with the imminent divorce

They live in the same house but have stooped sleeping with each other while Anton looks for someone else to fuck

Funny thing is SJM hasnt shown his toupe for a while either. He usually loves a bit of press but nowadays unless he is getting a free curry out of it then he is nowhere to be seen.

Lol. There is literally nothing to those stories, except the paranoid witterings of doommongerists.

None of those articles provide anything even as concrete as "Sources tell us". Which we all know is short-hand for "we're making it up". It might as well read "some 'tards are saying..."

No it's not being "doommongerist" you arsebiscuit it's people being concerned for the future of the club they support.

Taking the second half of your post in isolation, throughout the world of media "sources tell us" just as often means "we have some on in the know and we can't afford them to lose their job as they'll stop being a useful source."

If every story had to name sources then there'd be very few news stories in the world.

Personally, I don't believe the business about an arab consortium for a minute - but you can't automatically invalidate it just because the sources haven't been named.

Where club goes from here is anyones guess, and surely the uncertainty will relay itself to the management and players

desperate men do desperate things. it was just slightly disingenuous of him to state TSI were the ones, rather than the only ones.

When it comes to the newspapers and football news (as it is apolitical usually), if it's in the chronicle or The Sun pinch of salt.

If it's in GetReading, maybe. Especially now that Jonny has gone he didn't mind posting a bit of rumour.

If it's in the Times, The Guardian yeh sure i'll take it seriously. If it's on the BBC it's happening.

Still in the pinch of salt stage.

The Chronicle article in particular is just oxf*rd awful. not even an attempt to get a statement from the club.

But we know for certain that he's not paid for outstanding 49% yet, so technically he does only own 51% so far. Whether he's looking to offload his 51% plus his liability to purchase the remainder, or just the 51% he owns so far, isn't known for sure.
