Pyro

by Will95 » 04 Aug 2013 15:38

Here we go then...

Who supports pyro on here and who doesn't? And reasons why/why not?

Whilst I'm not keen on flares/fireworks/bangers, I really do love smoke bombs. However, I understand the risk they pose to the young, elderly and those with breathing problems. However, if you know the crowd nearest to you is none of these, I see no problem, and I'd love to see them set off!

Also, anyone who throws them like some Wigan fans did yesterday needs to have their oxf*rd heads kicked in.

It's a wholly imported cultural thing, that doesn't improve the game for anyone.

But apart from that, all the football authorities, clubs, licensing authorities, SGSA (nee FLA) etc. don't see them a a bit of fun that livens up the atmosphere - they see them as a major threat to public safety, and they'll throw the book at anyone found to be involved with them.

And that means the threat of them will only make things worse for everyone - it'll give those who want all football supporters to be seen as potential hooligans ammunition for their argument, and it'll probably end in a higher level of more intrusive searches, more intensive stewarding and policing, and make the away "match experience" even more unpleasant.

Corrected for you.

Whilst I'm not keen on flares/fireworks/bangers, I really do love smoke bombs. However, I understand the risk they pose to the young, elderly and those with breathing problems. However, if you know the crowd nearest to you is none of these, I see no problem, and I'd love to see them set off!

How on earth could you possibly know that?!

I really don't see the sudden infatuation with these, what on earth do they add to a game? I pay my money to go to football and vocally get behind the team and hopefully see them score a hatful and win the game. Smoke bombs/flares/fireworks will do sod all to achieve that outcome, and will just be a general inconvenience to everyone around.

OUT.

How would you know they didn't have any health problems? Ask each and every single one of them?

I can only presume that you weren't alive in 1985?

About as much to do with the match as your match thread.
