Why is there red in our badge?

Any ideas? Never been a fan of it & am curious the reason behind it. :?:

its a common away kit colour i guess
but that shouldnt qualify it for a place on the badge

It was done in anticipation of the club being bought by a Malaysian businessman, and so that the club's name could be changed to the Reading Reds.

It's not just Red - it's 'Autotrader Red'.

Look at their logo, remember who started the company and what he spent a fair chunk of the profits on, then have a guess!
