Its not the football, success ot not that will influence me, its the distinct lack of appreciation or thought for the fans.
The Cup Semi ticketing was at best awful but todays news has left me absolutely enraged......

I go with a couple mates. If they jacked it in, I doubt I'd bother carrying on.

I've seen worse teams than this one (far worse), and watched through worse seasons, but I've never known a spell at Reading that was so utterly joyless.

I won't be renewing next season, priorities have changed I'm afraid. We had a baby girl in January and money is a bit tighter. The main reason though is I'm bored with football. This is my my thirtieth year supporting and it's something I just don't enjoy at the moment. I despair over the madstad 'experience' although to be fair we're probably not the only club to sell football this way. I don't mind losing Im just bored. I love going to away games I just can't be arsed at the thought of home games. Hopefully a year away will help regain the 'hunger'.

Ive missed about 8 home games so far ( through work, holidays and can't be arsed on two occasions ) so it's been a waste for me ( and my son )

I'm away for Brentford and I can't go on Saturday either so it's a No from me, on top of that I bought in GU2 this year and it's been so effin dull.

I've had STs in Y25, Y19, B15 in the past.

Will buy a couple of games in advance and move around the ground to see if the crack is any better.

I have a job where I put up with endless execs complaining about what is actually quite unimportant stuff not working. I'm expected to be professional and rational with these people and for that I get very handsomely paid. At the Reading games I can be irrational, opinionated and rude (but not be offensive, sexist, racist or homophobic).

I have brought my children from the age if 7 through to University and they have listened to industrial strength swearing, which they have found hilarious and a complete joy compared to the sterile world of school and TV, but have learnt there is a difference between what you say at football and what you say in front of your grandmother.

I was able to repay my father who took me to my first game at Roker Park by treating him to the Reading v Sunderland game a couple of seasons ago in the hospitality area for his 80th birthday.

But to be honest the main reason I will renewing this year is that RFC actually admitted they had cocked up with the stewarding and should not have ejected the guys from Y19.

tidus_mi2 I may have to balance this up on how many matches I'm likely to attend next season, obviously can't renew but I wonder if it will be worth buying a ST, what was a new ST last season, £425? If so I'd have to attend 17 matches to make it worth it, I suspect I'd probably be better picking and choosing my matches.

Fcuking hell. Posting on this site is like talking to the mrs sometimes.

Wut?

Just saying that in my situation, making midweek games is difficult so I don't know if I can attend enough matches to justify getting a season ticket.

My comment was regarding the price you quoted and the calculation of how many games can be missed before the ST becomes uneconomic when I'd posted the same (with the correct price) just a couple of posts above yours.

Ah ok, I see your point, I got curious about creating a sort of supply vs demand graph with regards to ticket + season ticket prices next season, factoring in an expected drop in renewals if the price were to stay the same next season.

Then I realised I haven't done anything like that since college and mucked it up, oh well.

Can't see a price rise being either necessary or justified.
I'm expecting good things this summer , suspect we may see the new owners ready to start making their mark. Bear wood is a huge step forward and I'm hoping that we see other stuff being announced.
We all know big changes will take place on the playing front and it seems Clark knows what he wants and will get the backing to do it. I just hope it involves our youngsters and not being a shop window for the next bunch of Chelsea kids to fail to break through under Jose.
I'm pretty sure I'll renew, what else would I do on Saturdays ?

Given that we've had basically zero inflation over the last year it would be pretty ridiculous if they put prices up.

If you think about it - with approx. 12,000 STH, every £10 increase is only worth £100,000 (after VAT). So even if a £50 increase resulted in no fall in numbers the most they get is £500,000 - Pogs wages for 10 weeks. I doubt they would be short-sighted enough to risk the backlash.

We've had much higher inflation than that. The Sky nonsense probably means inflation in football is very much in double digits.
The RPI means nothing in terms of what it costs to run a football club, but in terms of what fans might be prepared to pay I agree there should be no increase on the horizon.

Schards isn't renewing mine - I just can't be bothered anymore - I never feel excited about a game and I don't feel any connection with the club anymore - so for that reason - I'm OUT

Some people don't renew that's fine

However if you're not renewing because of the poor performances, results, or team spirit then FUK YOU.

In the last 10 years we have seen:

- Promotion to the Premier League
- A finish of 8th there with a close finish to European places
- Another championship win, going up as champions
- Play off final - amazing experience despite losing
- semi final appearence
- never dropping below the second tier which is a high level of football

In the last 2 seasons particularly we have had ownserhip issues. We are so much luckier than others, we have come through it. avoided deductions. We have new owners.

Yea sure I accept that people will float away, but if you conciously decide to not renew then I question your commitment.

Probably renew especially as it will be the last season to buy a kids ticket for my son at the ridiculously cheap prices. The cup run has made made it tricky this year with lots more midweek games as a result, meaning I've missed more games than I would like

Ticket office manager single handedly ensured that I renewed next year by exchanging my shit Wembley ticket for a very nice seat in block 122 row 21.
There is a lot of crap written about the bad points of RFC but tonight they can do no wrong in my eyes.

Not bad pricing for a ST. I love mine in Y26 and would never give it up, can't see too many people not renewing as the cup run has overshadowed the dire season a little

Saturday certainly bought the 'feel good factor' back, something that has been absent for a number of years. Will it be enough to convince existing ST's holders to put up the cash for another slog next season?

Intelligent call, and if you did find your mojo coming back you'll still have the option of a half season ticket in November/December.
