That all looks like Bison related chat, he looks much more into his ice hockey and RFC are quite clearly not part of his football love.
No reason for people to take this too seriously. At worst the guy has an annoying way with words on the mic. He's not trying to turn RFC into an ice hockey club or make us wear Oxford shirts on match days.
Would be good if he listened to what is said, seems bizarre if he wants to annoy the people he is supposed to be providing a service for. A good announcer can add a lot (I wonder if he has ever heard the really top guy at Anfield) a bad one gets noticed.

He's been doing ice hockey games for 25 years, so that's no surprise.

More of a surprise would be ditching Bracknell (his hometown club) to go to Basingstoke, unless he deosn't really care about either of them, and just regards it purely as a job.

Yes, but he was the Bracknell Bees PA guy 25 years ago, and remained there for a long time.

In an ideal world the answer would be no.

Like with referees....

I'm not against the concept of a pa warm-up person, just against the abject execution.

I'm in favour of his execution, abject or not.

How about giving the person due to be executed a chance to save theirselves by kicking a ball into the net from the penalty spot, halfway between the penalty area and center circle and finally the center circle.

If they get the first one in, they get to wear a blindfold. get the second one and they get upgraded from hanging to a quick death by firing squad, get the last one and they get to do it all again next week. If they make it until the end of the season they get to walk away. It will be more exiting than wathcing someone win a Reading FC gnome

I think he's getting worse.

Either he knows it annoys people, and he's cranking it up to 11 to take the piss, or he genuinely thinks he's helping the atmosphere.

At least he read the numbers out like a normal person yesterday rather than his Smashy and Nicey/Bullseye act.

When he read the teams out properly rather yesterday I thought he'd finally got the message, then he launched into his fucking awful drivel and ended with his "COME ON YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOU RRRRRRRRRRRRZ" worse than ever before.

I think he must be trying to wind us up now, nobody's so thick that they think it's a good idea surely?

I thought he may be just playing up due to the reaction of some of the fans

It's funny though as the majority still respond to him ...

"Commmeeee onnnn youuuuuuu arrrrrrrrrrzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Crowd responds: urzzzzzz

Not sure why people respond to him

Really? The "Back the boys and make some noise" gets the same response it always has and always will. His follow up drivel that includes "Come on You RZZ!" gets virtually no response at all.

Best thing about the Burnley game was the ref getting them to kick off before we could play that Sweet Caroline abomination.

Probably not the same response, in fact definitely not.

But every week I'm still surprised how many respond to him ... That was the point I was trying to make.

It frustrates me as if fans didn't react or did in a negative sense it may send a stronger message

vs Burnley -

It's 15:00, the players are lined up, the ref has his whistle in his mouth ready to get the game underway

But the P.A. bloke hasn't done his cringy rally cry yet. The logical thing to do is to not open your mouth and assume people are here to watch the football not listen to your drivel. Or at very least cut it short.

But no, not this guy. He delayed kick off for around a minute while he is shouting his usual shite AND the sound effects guy still thought it would be a good idea to try and squeeze sweet caroline in at the end for about 5 seconds. What's the oxf*rd point? Just shut the fcuk up so we can watch some football.
