Cardiff away Saturday 7th November

by Royals and Racers » 20 Sep 2015 20:58

Looking at train times for this fixture, and it seems there is engineering work on that day and it`s going to be train to Bristol Parkway and then bus/coach from there to Cardiff and vice versa on way back. Bit of a bummer that !!

Is there not another way through? Via Shrewsbury and the valley line possibly (speak to melonhead about this one)

Or isn't there a ferry service from North Devon to South Wales?

It`s not meant to be a sightseeing trip !! -just A to B. sure there are other routes-via Hereford and Newport(shorter bus ride is one) but they seem to be more expensive.

I'm offering you solutions Royals and Racers but you seem determined to come back with more problems.

Not sure what else I can say. Are you going as part of a group? Could maybe look into minibus hire (again, I think melonhead is your man for this)

The ferry service from North Devon would be your best bet.

You could even stop over on Lundy island for a spot of lunch and a few ales...

I`m actually going the direct route- Reading to Bristol parkway and then coach to Cardiff-thought I would pre-warn of the engineering works that weekend-wish I hadn`t bothered .

I would ignore Green, Royals and Racers. He has history of causing significant - and sometimes criminal - e-beef.

Already bought tickets for train and won match tickets (in the home end) with McCoys. Just going to have to bite the bullet and get the replacement bus service. Will be bringing plenty of reading material, bottles of ale, and music to listen to.

Considering going as I've missed Cardiff away repeatedly despite it being on my "to do" list.

Anyone getting the train? I see there is a bus service part way but total journey time is 2 hours 20 mins. Not that bad I guess

Yes I am but that journey time has to be a big guess on their part-trouble on the M4 and we could be in the mire !!!

Probably changed for the better, granted, but the new ground is absolutely awful. The only decent trip there was the play-off win 8)

Not a patch on getting all sorts thrown at you in that pen at Ninian Park.
