Wouldn't mind the Stand named after Dolan but I reckon it should be The Queensley Royal Stand then we can put down the bitch

I know some would have preferred naming the academy after him, but this is pretty good too.

That would be me, however I can find nothing to complain about regarding this decision

Good decision to name the stand after him. Maybe there was a problem with the FA re-naming the academy after him, I don't know - but happy his memory has been remembered this way.

A lovely tribute.

I hesitate to say so on this of all days, but it seems slightly disproportionate and perhaps even a little cynical. Although Dolan did a huge amount for this club, and there's no taking that away from him, is he really one of the four or five most important people in our history? I feel like a prominent plaque next to those for Evans and Tranter would be more fitting than a tribute which overshadows them.

I don't think you could name the Academy after him because it's not really a thing, but you could name some of the facilities after him. That would also seem fitting.

Kuhl_Runnings DEFINITELY name the academy for him if they can but has this kind of thing happened before? If not then that's lovely and we should be proud for having our academy named for a person who gave so much to it, and the first team to do that. If not then it's still lovely and we should be proud of it.

There's talk of looking at a sponsor for the naming of the academy. Having said that, they do seem to be talking about sponsoring the stadium etc but they don't half seem slow in nailing a contract and bringing in that much needed money... Or does SJM still manage to put that off I wonder.

Just a quick question...

Will the stand have a visible sign above it or on it saying "Eamonn Dolan Stand?" - a bit like this:

I know the area above the stand at the MadStad is different but was just wondering as it would be good if it was visible rather than just in name.
