I drive from Wokkers and park off the Basingstoke Road, then walk from there. Negligible cost.

Approx 3 hour drive in 3 litre diesel Jag, live in Sherwood Forest just north of Mansfield so gotta be about £40 in fuel. £25 match ticket for me £10 for 1 son and £7 for the other and a programme (between them lol). Don't pay to park as old man lives close enough to walk it and don't buy food or drink at ground.
Total cost of about £85.

McDermolenko Interested to know how much it's costing most on here per game (travel + ticket).

Currently costing around £70 per game (without season ticket) coming in from London.

20 minutes walk + ticket. Nolonger do I allow myself to waste money on food and drink at the stadium.

I have worked out my cost of Reading home games including the ticket.

Season Ticket - £375/23 = £16.30
Under 7s Season ticket = £0
Travel to the ground by car from London = £10.50 (This is just the petrol. I didn't calculate other costs.)
Parking at the Speedway = £8
Programme - £3.50
Total: £41.80

Those are my fixed costs. My variable costs are what is consumed at the Mad Stad on a matchday. Beers, Burgers, drinks etc.

My minimum matchday cost is £40 but that includes me and my kid. My overall cost could be around £60. It's only two or three times a month and my costs do cover two people. £20 for me and £20 for my kid. Also my Dad comes with us as well so he doesn't have to pay for parking or transportation. So the costs cover another person as well. When you break it down like that it gets less per person. So, I guess it's not too bad.

If I watch my local non league team, Wealdstone FC. Then I'd be looking at £8 entry for me, free for the kid and £2 for the programme. No parking costs and little to no petrol costs. Wealdstone costs me a tenner, Reading £40.

Home games: Ticket - about £17*, bus £5. Food/drink somewhere between £0 and £10 depending. Let's say £5 average. So £27.

Season ticket holder, average brought down by a few FA/Carling Cup games, and brought back up again by the couple of leagues games per year that I miss.

Actually, it's not that much cheaper. It's cheaper for me because I live in London and not Reading.
Also as a Reading season ticket holder, I can get in at Wealdstone at the concession rates as they offer lower prices to season ticket holders of football league clubs.

If I lived as close to Reading as I do to Wealdstone FC (based in Ruislip) then Reading would be costing me just £20 a game.
If I wasn't an RFC season ticket holder then Wealdstone would cost about £14 a game.

But if you lived closer to Reading your local team wouldn't be Wealdstone :|

If you weren't a Reading season ticket holder, Reading would be costing you more as well as a local non-league club. :|
