Cardiff (A)

Bluebirds accept request to reciprocate our £20 price cap for away fans!

Last month we led the way in the Sky Bet Championship by agreeing that ‘Twenty’s Plenty’ for away fans in 2016-17.

As a club, we listened to a nationwide supporter appeal, led by the Football Supporters' Federation, designed to limit adult away ticket prices at stadia across the country…next season travelling adult fans, who are Season Ticket holders or Members at their respective clubs, will be able to come and watch their team take on Jaap Stam’s Royals for just £20!

And in announcing the pioneering move to support the Twenty’s Plenty campaign, we openly stated that our ultimate aim was to encourage other clubs to follow suit and help to arrange reciprocal pricing structures for our travelling fans this season and beyond.

As a club, we contacted a number of our counterparts at clubs up and down the country and we are delighted to announce that Cardiff City have become the first to agree to a ‘Twenty’s Plenty’ price cap in return.

We hoped ours would be a structure other clubs would admire and adopt and we would like to applaud Cardiff for their reciprocal ticket price cap – a move which will mean Royals fans will be able to enjoy affordable football in the Welsh capital when we take on City at the end of August.

We will continue to request reciprocal pricing arrangements at clubs our fans will visit throughout the 2016-17 campaign. We regard this as another step in the right direction.

Tickets for this game are due to go on sale next week, so we look forward to our supporters enjoying affordable football in the Welsh capital at the end of August!

Fairplay to the Club & Cardiff for this. IN.

Disappointing attitude Swainey. We should show other clubs that by offering us £20 tickets we will fill their grounds.

Also have good memories there and easy to get to, so should be high up on the list for most fans

I just haven't acclimatised after going to Ninian Park for so many years. Went to the play-off semi final, but I can't see anything topping that. Have a good one, though.

Cardiff on my visit list so yes, I am in too.

I also agree with LWJ about making a statement and more effort with clubs doing the £20 tickets. I'd love to show them that fans appreciate the considered pricing by bigger attendances.

Similarly, avoiding places like Sheffield Wednesday and QPR who absolutely royally rip fans off.

Anyone getting the train for this?

Planning on getting the 1038 from Reading -> Cardiff, arriving at 1253. Will also include the onward trip to Ninian Park train station.

2xSingles for me is £36

I'll be in for this as well.

Definitely agree we need to pack out the 20 quid reciprocal clubs to emphasise the point. I made this point on the Villa thread but it's a shame they've sold out the 4k+ available when they're complaining about being charged £42 for it.

Going from Didcot Parkway just into Cardiff Central (cheaper!) only half hour walk. £28

Anywhere decent to drink in city center?

Very tempting, also very much in for supporting away games at £20 and boycotting the expensive ones.

Price is now £47 :x

Got a m8 who works on the railways and can get me the train tickets for £10 each way, but I have go change at Birmingham New Street. This adds 90 minutes to each journey which is a bit much.

Fecking thieving train bastewards

Hopefully we manage to take a few with the twenty's plenty ticket scheme. Would send out a message that away ends would be filled with sensible pricing unlike what the likes of Wednesday, Nowich, Brighton & Ipswich charge.
