We need a new fixture board at stadium

by bobby1413 » 19 Aug 2017 13:17

Seriously, forget about a new striker or the next football match. Get a decent fixture board.

For years we've had that wooden one which for about 3 years hasn't been in use.

Why not get an electronic one at both roundabouts so passing traffic can see it.

Add next fixture, web site address and twitter name, phone number etc...

Great idea, send an email to the club to suggest this.

The club have been trying to sort out an electronic board for quite a while, but Tesco are being very difficult.

Why does their permission need to be given? Is it because it's on their land or something?

Fck, I've just remembered I did email the club on Saturday night whilst drunk...

drunk me Auf Wiedersehen,

I think Reading FC should get a new fixture board.

If you had a flashy LCD screen that had updated fixtures, a phone number, the club logo, Twitter address, etc... it shows that the club is modern, it's open and that people can come and buy tickets (that don't usually come).

So, please can you update this old wooden outdated fixture board?

Bonjour,
Bobby

Not sure why I decided to start and end the email like Delboy.

Yep, you'll notice it's on their side of the fence annoyingly. It wasn't a problem when the brewery owned the land.

Shame they can't just move it - either down the road near to the other roundabout towards town, or on the Green Park land - I'm sure they'd like to help advertise games and delays for their workers/companies.

Don't see why they can't just move it, the sign doesn't have to be in exactly the same spot, there must be several points on the A33 it could be feasible. Logically there should be one between J11 roundabout where the current one stands, prime position I would say is in place of one of the billboards just past the Verizon building where the road offers the weary traveller the branch round onto the old Basingstoke Road

Oh and Tesco - the comumunity store

Maybe they should go to a specialist supplier instead, assuming they've already tried Asda and Waitrose as well.

They want the clubcard points m8, plus it's also 2-4-1 on strikers down there.

Agreed. I'm thinking it's time to give the stadium a little overhaul. Some of the paintwork looks a little tired these days. Specifically in the concourse areas. The higgledy piggledy brick paving outside the stadium also needs addressing.
