They were unusually quiet and very low on numbers.

Kid for a quid wasn’t available in 1871 so most of them were sat with their school/ youth club elsewhere

It was quiet, but I think the combination of four weeks off, the baltic weather and the England game made the whole match have a feel of an exhibition to it.

I thought 1871 has been closed for the last 2 games anyway ?
Been very quiet - has the magic worn off ?

Didn’t go the other night then? Pretty much sung nonstop for the last 10 minutes.

Wow !
What about the other 87 ?
And the volume was way down even at the end.
1871 has been superb, but recent form is no different to pre 1871 days, which is a bit worrying.

I didn't think there was much of an issue with it, granted I wasn't at the game, but were in decent voice throughout most of the game I thought. Maybe not quite the same as earlier in the season, I don't know, still thought it was alright though.

Not being at the game might be the issue…..

You understand the sound on your TV is nothing like the actual sound in the stadium ?

Agree, if you can hear particular fans clearly on TV then they must be making decent noise.

I can only assume the people expecting a World cup final at the Maracana type atmosphere, at Reading vs Swansea, are new to football.

I can only assume that those who think the noise at the last couple of games is up to the standards 1871 have set themselves over the last couple of seasons are new to the Madejski….

Cov was bad, no doubt.

Weather probably played a part in that, but they were good on Tuesday, for a lot of the game, not just the end. Although that was arguably when the players needed them the most and it was noisy.

Yes I've been to plenty of football games in my lifetime thanks.

They were unusually quiet and very low on numbers.

Time to end this farce

It's costing the club too much money and it's embarrassing

They are bleeding this club dry and causing the club not to pay staff

Looking at the away section it rarely costs the club money, nor is it embarrassing. Far better that on a few occasions the club loses a few quid than the away support take over that whole end and effectively turn it into a home game for their team as used to happen. I reckon our players and management would agree too.

Is the better vocal support generated by Club 1871and our very good home record this season a mere coincidence?

In our current situation, which dictates short-termist approaches and priorities, gaining points has to be more important than occasional losses on ticket sales to away fans.

And no, I don't nor ever have sat in Club 1871.
