Really? I'd think it would go on sale to STH first.

I don't usually go to pointless friendlies like Spurs, or this one, but for twenty points, and getting to see Glen Johnson play, how can I refuse!

Its a joke, to be honest - Its instantly devalues the committment of those who went to 10 away games last season, by making a meaningless friendly worth the same amount.

Sort it out Reading.

Kunts.

So, if I go to Villa, Wigan, Sheffield United and West Ham I will have the same number of points as someone who toddles along to a meaningless friendly.

Why don't they just drop the whole pretense about Royalty Points rewarding loyalty and just dish points out at the end of the year to people who've spent most money?

They're just a bit worried that nobody's that bothered about this game then!

Couldn't agree more.

And how many people booked holidays specifically to be back for the start of the Prem season, only now to find out they will be 20 loyalty points worse off?

The club has long since devalued those who travel regularly to away games.

15 away games last season= Feyonoord friendly and Star Membership

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at just how stupid the club can be. At least we know for certain now that Royalty points has nothing to do with loyalty at all. It's sickening knowing that because I'm going on holiday and missing a meaningless game (the holiday being moved to accomodate the start of the Premier League season incidently) that I will start the season 20 points worse off than others. I don't want to get into all this "I'm more loyal than you" crap, but I'm going to Bromley and Millwall away friendlies, how much will I be rewarded for my loyalty then? Yet the man across the street from the Madejski can just pop along and get 20 points, more than what I managed to get from spending well over £250 going to the last 8 away games of last season, in places as far away as Crewe, Sheffield and Burnley.

I'm seriously trying to find a mate who will go along for this (it is Glen Johnson after all!), so I can book them on my card and get the points. Reading will have one unhappy customer (notice how it's customer and not fan anymore), but what do they care - at least they've got the money in the bank!

P.S who would be best to e-mail about this? Boyd Butler? Andy West? Unless the guy who thought this up gets what he deserves and gets hit by a bus first I'd like him to read my views on his wonderful initiative.

Sorry, but that's bollox.

Why should I be rewarded less points than someone from outside of Reading for supporting my hometown team? You simply can't discriminate between a fan that lives 3 miles away from Madejski or 300 miles away.

Think you've mis-interpreted my point. It's got nothing to do with how far people travel to home games. I'm saying that we should be rewarded more for travelling miles and miles to places like Crewe and Burnely, than travelling 5 minutes to see our team play at home in a meaningless friendly.

Why?

The club benefit less from the sale of away tickets than they do home tickets, so why should they be obliged to offer more royalty points for the away games than home?
