Radio Berks or 107FM

by Blue Jay » 21 Jul 2006 10:32

It's all very well talking about commercial rights but does the quality of the package not matter? if this carries on we will have warm pissy beer served incompetently, expensive nasty food and a complete lack of regard to the feelings of fans...oops...we already have reached that point!

Pretty useless poll. I think all views have been displayed in the other thread and no one has welcomed the decision.

thanks for the kind comment. Just thought that it would provide a simple measure rather than reading through the whole thread...but hey, it's a free country...next time I will check with you for the appropriateness of my posts!

107 is toilet! I for one will miss the comedy and camaraderie that BBC Radio Berks brought to the commentary.

Advertisers please note: You are wasting your money paying to advertise on 107FM on matchdays - there will be sod all people listening to that station.

Berks FM will still be the best coverage of the Royals even without live commentary and despite being sold down the river by the business management at RFC.

I agree Radio Berks sports coverage was the best thing the station did. Joel Hufford is a great commentator. Tim Deller is a bit of a pillock but I reckon coverage of the team was as good as any local radio station would give.

However I can only ever remember people on Hob nob harping on about it being rubbish.

Harping on about BBC Berks being rubbish proves people are listening to it, though. I suspect Reading 107 will not have the same problem.

I've never listened to 107 in the past and if the quality of streamed commentary on Reading World is anything to go by, I won't be doing so in the future either. I prefer the muck and bullets, not taking yourself too seriously approach of the BBC to the polished turd approach of commercial broadcasters.

Fairly academic poll as money talks louder.Sad that yet another of my pre/post match rituals is about to die.

This is a joke poll

107 should win as they support the club financially.

I don't see CocoPops sponsoring the club.

Radio Berks also support the club financially and did so when the club needed it most. They have also done far more to bring the club to a wider audience/fan base.

The only joke is 107 and it is an extremely bad one!

OK

I still can't see the big fuss over it - the only fuss is caused by pLOLastics who don't attend the games who don't count anyway.

so if they do not count why did the club want so much money from BBC Berks for the games, £60odd thousand sounds a lt to me, and a lot more than you put into it Finchy.

5 votes - I wonder whether the staff at 107 have been told to get on here and register a vote!

But is the Madejski business empire the real world?

Short term gain may well result in longer term loss.
