Gandalf Presley The man in question sits a couple of rows in front of me in the East stand - bears an uncanny resemblance of Captain Birdseye - so I get to hear his full repartee. My personal favourite is "win it, win it, win it" although "c'mon you royals, don't rest on your laurels" had me  at the Sheff Weds game. I can remember hearing his dulcet tones at Elm Park...

I sat next to him, I have never ever heard him utter anything apart from "Come on you Royals". He does smell pretty bad though!

It's great to know this bloke is still around. I remember him well from Elm Park but haven't heard him since.

All I can hear is some gobby fat twit near the back about Y21/22 who shouts and swears very loudly and often uses racial abuse. Every time he does it his friends fall about with laughter.

Amazing that they chuck people out who stand up and yet the stewards don't bother with this lowlife.

What a great man.

I used to be in y19 and it is indeed the rumble man as we call him

the come on you royals starts off like a train emerging from a tunnel and then turns into a cross between a long belch, a frog and a deep growl.

I always nticed that he said it on the 6o minute mark

I here him every game, he's funny, me and my friend always laugh when he says it, maybe we're a bit childish
I think he must be in either Y19 (where i am) or Y20.

^Word

Row Z Royal
Rev Algenon Stickleback H so what is the club policy on "deep voice man"?

The policy should be that he's known as "Frog Man"*.

Frog man is in Y19 AA. Or at least he used to be if you want to go find him.

the problem is, call him "frog man" and people will wander over expecting to see someone in a wetsuit with an aqualung.

That figures. I was in Y19 AA at the last match and heard him occasionally, but could never work out where he was other than towards the far north end of the section. I thought he might be further down towards the pitch, but could never match his voice to anyone there.

I won't give out where it is exactly, but it's close to the left hand stairs as you come out from the y19 concourse, he is near the stairs in AA.

From your descriptions I think he is known as "Sam" although that is not his real name. I also think he used to be the coach at Forest Old Boys FC when I were a lad.
