In 05/06 a North Stand s/t was [iirc] £300. Assuming inflation was 5% p.a. [and I am certain it was <3%] it would have meant prices of £315 in 06/07 [it was £545], £330.75 in 07/08 [it was £545], and £348 in 08/09 [I think it was £450 but am possibly wrong]....

So in actual fact the staff and players saw wages cut by 40% and fans saw STs reduce by 17%....

Given the super inflation we have seen in prices the benefits offered are pretty poor. Look at Aberdeen FCs scheme and you will see something rather more like benefits.

I have little doubt that prices will rocket again if we are promoted. £600 perhaps to allow us to compete in the transfer market???
I am close to having an AST and not a home ST as the away games are more enjoyable. I cannot see us as a group of fans allowing the rip off the club got away with in 06/07..... even if we do get given a cheap and shoddy scarf as a sweetener!

Personally, I feel that talk of £600 STs is stupidly alarmist, even for PL STs.

Regardless of what some people on here think about them the club do appreciate that we are in the midst of a world-wide recesssion and that times are hard for people, and so I have no doubts that STs will be priced with this in mind.

Has this survey been sent to everyone with a season ticket?

It would be good for current ST holders if the club went back to the past and offered renewals now, or soon, at a similar level as this season, regardless of which league we are in next season. If most of the 14k renewed soon, it would only leave 4k available for next season, and just perhaps current ST holders might feel better for a bargain.

royalexile Norwich have frozen next seasons ST. Citing recession. I feel a groundswell of opinion forming. :D

That's going to upset a lot of their fans if they get relegated....mind you it'll probably not upset them as much as the actual act of being relegated will.

No. It can only have been sent to those with an email address and only once to that email address (e.g. if two season ticket holders have the same email address registered with the club the survey will only have been sent once).

Except there is a refund clause built in to the prices.

Interesting that you can get a renewal at Norwich for around the same price as RFC was for the 2005/06 season, always thought that clubs like Norwich and Ipswich were the sort of club we should aspire to be, though thye were Prem then!!

I would have thought talk of a hike from 300 to 545 upon our last promotion would have been barking mad..... still happened though. The club then were told by many fans that it was a step too far but ignored them.

£600 would of course only represent a £55 rise over 3 seasons - comparing PL like.
Or an inflation rate of around 3% p.a.

I hope the Club are not that stupid - but I wouldn't bet against it. Perhaps fans ought to let the club know their feelings in advance?

I'd be happy to take any such bet you'd like to make related to £600 STs.
