Have to agree with that. It was pointless when new, now it's just tired and pointless. What does it actually add to anyone's enjoyment or to a feeling of supporting the team?

Perhaps STAR can mention it then.

Always thought it was strange why we got the 13 too - the expression has always been about the fans being "like a 12th man".

I think Jamie Cureton had the 12 at the time......fairly good chance it'll be free again soon though, maybe?

And I'm still waiting for my new contract offer, I think the club only want to do a 1 year but I'm holding out for 3.

Footballers are a superstitious bunch, therefore 13 is the number least likely to be coveted.

Ruins our chances of signing Michael Ballack though

Apart from the big flag and an obscure link on the OS I don't think it's really mentioned any more. The only embarrassment was the announcements at the Mad Stad but they have stopped haven't they?

I think we can all agree that Number 13 was the work of an epic pcunt.

Did I dream it, or was it H&Pers doing? Or was it SFers?

Either way: pcunt.

It was fun when it started and I believe we were the first to do it. However, I do not recall the #13 being announced in the team line up last season over the tannoy. Begs the question why it is still persisted with. But as it does not cause any harm or offence then why not suffer it a tad longer? Anything is better than some 9 year old screaming "Back The Boys" into the microphone at half time and perforating thousands of eardrums simultaneously.

Personally, I think the "No 13 - Reading fans" is a good idea as it is a constant reminder of how the fans are part of the team. It doesn't do any harm so why get rid of it?

I love the way people get their knickers in a twist about this stuff.

It's utterly harmless and the sort of thing the kiddies like. If you don't like it, ignore it.

Think you'll find that was Locke, Hamer had the number 1 shirt in the first half
