Bit of an occasion this evening, with England Under-21s in action in the European Championships semi-finals. They play Israel, who you'd think would be relatively easy opponents, but Israel has a remarkably talented pool of young players and came third at the Under-20 World Cup last year. Winners will play Spain or Ukraine in the final on Saturday.

Doubt it - all of the other matches have been shown on https://www.uefa.tv/ (it's also on the radio - TalkSport 2)

Of course if it was the women's u21s the BBC would have it wall to wall, despite the tennis.

Channel 4 has struck a last-minute deal with UEFA to broadcast England's game against Spain in the final of the Under-21s Euros on Saturday.

Channel 4's coverage will get underway at 4.45pm on Saturday, with the game kicking off at 5pm.

Well done Channel 4. Nice to see football on a different channel other than the useless ITV and the government's propaganda machine. Hope your pundits are up to the mark.

Haven’t the majority of England games been on C4 recently?

Also, government propaganda machine? got enough tin foil for the rest of us?

England won 1-0 (Curtis Jones). 4 sent off though (2 from each team)

No goals conceded in the 6 games.

James Trafford saved last minute penalty to cap off his £19m move to Burnley from Man City this summer.

Cue Lee Carsley being talked up as the next England manager.

4 sent off but both teams finished with 11 men on the pitch. A coach and a sub from each team.

That was epic drama at the end.

VAR Review, 2 mins after the incident happened.

Pen... SAVE

Rebound... SAVE

2nd rebound... OVER THE BAR

Great stuff.

Still room for Maguire, Henderson and Phillips in the squad .

Think it says more about alternative options than anything else, especially with Maguire. JWP is perhaps the only unlucky one in midfield. Sterling still misses out despite starting the season well, so I don't think it's simply Southgate sticking with favourites. It's just that, in Sterling's position, there's no space for you if you're not at the top of your game. Not so at CB and CM.

Yeah, I think Pope, JWP and Sterling might feel they should be in the squad. Solly March has a decent chance at a call-up this season too. Just don't let him take penalties.

Bowen too

Poor start to last season but ended it well and has carried on that form to this season. Superb touch and finish against Brighton last week which would have been endlessly shown had it been Salah or co
