Old Man Andrews A few of the England lads have been at it again breaking the COVID regulations by having a gathering of over 20 people at Tammy Abraham's party. They think they are above the law or they are just very, very thick.

Am I the only one who hates international breaks ? As far as I am concerned it’s just an irritating interruption to the real thing:namely Championship football.

No, I don’t like them either as usually it’s pointless “friendly” games being played. Even the Euro and World Cup qualification groups these days are largely irrelevant for the likes of the top seeded 15 or so countries in Europe.

UEFA qualification for Euros and World Cup should be completely revamped into something along the lines of 15 or groups of 4 teams with just the group winner progressing. Then it’d be “spicey” and the games really mean something, plus we could go back to the days of internationals being occasional midweek affairs on a Tuesday or Wednesday and the interest would be a lot higher.

And to have the pointless Nations League competition being played given the current state of affairs is utterly ludicrous, it should have been scrapped and the “days” given back to the domestic leagues. But no, it has to be played and consequently club sides are facing a stupidly condensed domestic programme of fixtures.

England U19s v Scotland U19s abandoned. Eng 3-1 up at half-time and players waiting to go out.... Players told a Covid test result of one of the backroom staff was revealed during match, causing cancellation

A comfortable England win. Poor defending by the Welsh centre backs. It seemed a little pointless with so many quality players missing from both sides.

Apparently Coady's effort was his first shot at goal for three years. Clinical! :)

Not sure I follow any complaints about 'pointless friendlies'. The international calendar is vastly improved and now fixed through a few weekends pre-Xmas, and one after. This was just our third pure friendly game since the 2018 World Cup, and our first since November of that year.

I thought they did tests a day or so before a game so as to avoid idiocy like this.

It was worthwhile if for no other reason that it showed what Grealish can bring to the team.

Will he play on Sunday though? He should of course (well, to my mind anyway) but Southgate may have different ideas.

Agree on Grealish, much more respect for him in recent times.

(scanning through the tv guides, I take it our NATIONAL TEAM. Is only available to see on subscription channels once again?)

Ten minutes of nice possession then one attack and we look so vulnerable

Next attack they score and somehow disallowed

A minute or so later an awful tackle from Dier and a penalty

Oh dear. Defence looks awful

Bloody awful. If Chilwell is unwell, surely Saka deserves a chance? We're so imbalanced. Mount over Grealish on current form is criminal; I'd suggest community service and fine as a minimum. Dier is shit and surely Coady deserves to play. 3 CBs with Henderson and Rice ahead had resulted in sideways passing and is like watching paint dry.

One of the things I liked about 2018 was Southgate picked the players who deserved to play, but now he's turning into all other England managers by sticking with favourites and allowing the team to become stale and turgid

Can't argue with any of that

Preferred the make up and balance of the team against Wales.

Pretty much this.

We got off with a dodgy pen but this team looks poor. Where are Coady, Saka and Grealish

Second half has been much better
Probably deserved that lead although a flukey deflection

Southgate is just as oxf*rd spineless as all other England managers. Utterly joke of a manager. Choosing big names over form.
