From Despair To Where?
We all know ITV are just shit when it comes to Sports coverage and Tyldesley and Townsend are the very worst of a very bad bunch.

I used to believe this right up to the point where ITV uncovered Clarke Carlisle.
Im assuming he's cheap.

Pearce's explosion kind of let him off his shock at Palacios getting a red, when if he'd been watching the telly he'd have seen the ref brandish the yellow first

Also, I'm not sure abut the love for Henry, all he did yesterday was try to take the piss out of Savage and then be biased for the French, it was ITV standard pundit bant

Actually, the funniest thing I've seen thus far was a bloke in the pub pulling out a Partridge-esque "shit, did you see that" at Sterling's not goal.

Our over-reaction in the pub wasn't helped by the socreboard chagning into the goal graphic

I think Pearce had lost all credibility last night by the time he declared 3-0 to France when they hit the side neting

Yeah.

I'm quite glad I went for a hands-over-mouth-stand-in-shock reaction rather than jumping around like a mental.

Royal Rother Yeah he's cool, but am I alone in thinking there's been a fair bit more style than substance to his contributions so far.

I'd go along with that. He's a bit too cool, calm and collected at times too and could do with looking a little bit more interested once in a while. They're there to add to the experience and the event not for me that means add to the excitement and be engaging. I'd agree that he talks a lot without saying much.

I also agree in regards to Rio too. He was very awkward reading out his prepared intro to the Spanish team before the game the other day but when he's just talking freely and off the cuff he offers quite a lot.

Phil Nev has been the weakest of the BBC's boys for me. Again, as much as I like a dour approach he's there to add to the entertainment and his downbeat monotone co-commentary wasn't much fun during the England game.

sandman Ferdinand advising the England defenders to kick Balotelli. Can you believe this country hasn't won a tournament for 48 years with top quality advise like that?

Perfectly valid when you're dealing with a tempramental dangerman like Mario. Tournament winning defenders have been doing it for generations so I'm not sure what your point is here sandman.

....oh, just realised. My mistake.

You have someone like Rio there for the insiders view on things. Fair play to him for saying it.

That's the excuse Savage and Roberts always offer up after talking about the Neanderthal "tactics" they employed during their time as professional footballers (which both ended 2 or 3 years ago....)

Yeah, but he's good at Scrabble.

Townsend and Tyldesley would struggle to make a word out of the letters T W A S and T

Excellent from Phil Neville tonight when asked about social media he said with a big grin " Yeah, I used to love it until about 24 hours ago!"

Good man, that's the way to handle it.

Dan Walker is a pcunt.
Now I know Iran v Nigeria was a rubbish match but I still do not need to see tweets from the public shoing us a photo of their TV setup or grown men lying down on the ground pretending to be RVP.

The Guardian reviews their performances thus far.

They've rated ITV more highly than I would, and IMO Ferdinand >>> Henry. Nice to have a pundit who's recently played against most of the performers we're watching.

.. bit confused by the 'swapsies' going on: Sam Matterwotsisface doing ITV commentary and Alan Parry crossing back over to Talksh!te this evening?

... presumably they are 'dual registered'?

Actually Sam wasn't quite so blitheringly useless this evening as he always is with Stan Collybore ....

... and Robbie Savage was in hyper-hysteria mode for the Dutch vs Cobblers this PM - is he making up for Phil Neville's more 'measured' delivery 8)

Personally thought DM prattled on far too much. Usually with not very incitive comments and also supported so called 'professional' fouls.

watched the Spain v Chile game with 5 Live commentary. Much better and Tony Pulis was excellent.

In hindsight I should have done that. Certainly will give it a try next time.
