2-0 to the Dutch.

Know Chile were already through but a good win - they're probably Europes best bet to win it

Very pleased the Dutch topped the group. :D Hopefully will avoid Brazil in the next round now.

Yeah, Dutch have been one of the best sides so far. They know how to grind out a result against dangerous 'lesser' opposition and they've shown they can take teams apart and win from losing positions.

Their display against Aus I wondered if Chile might be able to step it up and take them as they were both already through, but the Dutch saw it out.

Definitely contenders.

The Dutch now find themselves on the easier side of the draw. The only "big" team they are likely to meet are Argentina in the semis.

France, Germany, Italy & Brazil on the other side of the draw so only one of these will make the final.

Told you it was BS saying they needed a "miracle" to qualify!

True, substitute Uruguay then, it will be one of the two.

You were right! Who would have thought they would have beaten Spain so easily though. The orange flags only went up on our street after the Spain game as no one believed they could do it.

The dutch are a pretty ordinary team without Robben and RVP, it seems to be common amongst a lot of the better teams that one or two world class players make that difference. Shame England don't have any.

I would have agreed with you until yesterday. But RVP couldn't play (suspended) and the 2 young strikers (Fer & Defay) they brought on in the second half, looked good and both scored. I think they have a lot of options.

Agree with England not having any world class players though.

There's a difference between looking good and being world class, Fer plays in the Championship ffs.

Spin off potential - Championship players/scorers in the WC

+1 for Gonzalo Jara. Released by Forest at the end of this season :)

Technically he plays in the Premiership, until the new season kicks off - he then won't be at Norwich
