I agree that there are a lot of ex-Liverpool pundits about on our screens, but most are clear, concise and articulate. Carragher and Murphy have done extremely well on the media front recently.

My bro (who hates football) asked me how Carra got a job as a pundit because he couldn't understand him.

TBF, the point he's making only requires him to point out one other club for all the regulars, so James spells for Villa, West Ham and ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar are, sort of, relevant.

There is something in the relative lack of, say, United or Arsenal players from the same eras, but the fact that both clubs were more successful in the same period, with managers more likely to restrict the players TV appearances when still playing, seems a more likely explanation.

My old bugbear is a complete lack of wit and nous about smaller clubs, so as long as they don't go "Reading, they don't have to wear an away kit", I don't really care.

You seem surprised. Mariner always seems to 'favour' Liverpool.

:D :D :D

So now it's because of referees that Liverpool are doing so well?
Maybe, just maybe they have some good attacking players and a manager who believes that attack is the best form of defence.
For those that like their football to be more about scoring goals than stopping goals I would have thought that Liverpool are worth watching this season and by contrast you must be glad that the anti-Christ is no longer at one of your clubs even if he is at another one of your clubs.

Clattenburg did well on Saturday didn't he?

Jeez, horrific for Danny Ings, who won't play again this season, having missed most of last, he's done his other knee now. :(

11 games gone, top of the table, just thrashed a currently solid midtable side? Yeah, they've got to be contenders this season... looks like it could get interesting at the top between Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, City and maybe Spurs.

BBC Sport in relation to Liverpool's 0-0 draw against Southampton. "It doesn't happen often but Liverpool fail to score"

I make that 25% of their league games they've failed to score in this season.

Don't worry SF. You're not the first Liverpool/Reading fan and you won't be the last. Although they're a bit of a dying breed now due to Liverpool's continued demise over the last 26 years.
