Victor Meldrew Typical football fans-no praise for Blackpool, just lolling about Liverpool.
It was the same yesterday with Sunderland who could have scored 5 or 6 v Man Utd and the comments were all about Man Utd having an off day whereas it should have been about Sunderland.
In the space of about 3 weeks Scholes has gone from being a contender for footballer of the year to just a little old ginger bloke playing one season too many.

BTW I have cleverly (?) done a Fergie and diverted attention away from the poor result for the club I care about just like he does and I suspect it was all the fault of the ref,the tea-lady or the programme-seller rather than the players.

TBF, Fergie was pretty gracious in the post match interview and applauded Sunderland's efforts. He seemed unusually downbeat and lacking energy.

Imagine if Liverpool go into administrationand get a nine point deduction.

They'd be on -3 points, so would need 43 more to get from 31 games to "ensure" safety.

which works out at 1.4 points per game. Currently they are averaging 0.86. Last year they achieved 1.65 ppg with Mascherano and an in form Torres.

Sky breaking that Liverpool have received two new offers to buy the club.

More alarming for Liverpool fans, especially should these deals go nowhere, is a (failed) attempt by Hicks and Gillett to replace the Liverpool Board with their own cronies. These guys really are a piece of work.

BBC R5L said that neither Hicks nor Gillette were in favour of either takeover. One from the States, the other from Asia. Welcome to the new Leeds Utd

Judging by the size of that cigar, he'll have died of cancer before he can buy the club!

So this has 9 days to go through, else the club go in to administration and the new Yank buys the club off RBS instead. Interesting times.

Could be wrong but I was under the impression this was a West Ham situation where the club itself would not go into administration but the holding company therefore no points deduction?

I thought that loophole had been shut following the So'ton situation?

Is that not a Football League rule as opposed to a Premier League rule?

True. I guess if there's a way they can stop one of their big clubs going into Admin they'll find a way.

I dunno. Historic port city with substantial Irish population; renowned old-world stadium by a park just outside the city centre; years in the shadow of bigger brasher neighbouring club. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

On the other hand maybe Liverpool has more in common with Saratov.

I think people are a bit off the mark when they go on about Liverpool or Man Utd "Doing a Leeds".
Leeds is rather a small club that has only ever won the "First Division" once-the likes of Pompey and Huddersfield have won it more than them.
They are possibly not even the biggest club in Yorkshire (Sheff Wed?)and have no commercial links around the world so had to rely just on gate receipts and Sky money so their expenditure gamble needed them to keep on winning the title and/or being in the Champions' League to produce enough income to fund the club.
Liverpool and Man Utd probably have more followers just in Ireland than Leeds have around the world and their popularity in terms of shirt sales etc is massive.
Banks have been happy to lend to these clubs because of the commercial growth around the world and they will continue to do so whoever has outright ownership.
