Yeah, how many of us could honestly say that at the age of 16, being skillz at football and with riches pretty much guaranteed wouldn't be a massive twat. I was bad enough as a 16 year old with no football skillz and not even a sniff of riches coming my way.

Going through the xG numbers Liverpool were 'lucky' to get within a point of City

How good Alison (sp?) is in goal is also up for grabs but according to the numbers 'saved' about 5 goals more compared to average

They are prolly fooked if they get injuries to the front three

The classic "game of two halves".
Man City better in the first half but Liverpool miles better in the second, as stated by the neutral Glen Hoddle.

A good workout for both teams who will surely be competing strongly with each other for the league title with the rest as also-rans.

Surprised you even watched the game in full.
I feel heartened by the performance, especially in the second half, when Liverpool dominated the Champions.
Good stuff.

What about the 1st half, when a back up goalkeeper made TAA look like John Halls?

you are right to be surprised  I watched about 30 mins of the first half and the last 5 mins

Injuries to VVD and one of your front 3 and you're fooked. True of United as well (Pogba & Maguire etc). City have like for like replacements

According to xG, xGA nums etc you outperformed last year but tbf you do have exceptional finishers like Salah. He seems to have adopted a 'shoot on sight' policy

If you only watched the first half you have ended up with an Ian Royal-type view of the game.
To quote the report in my paper:-
"Liverpool, who created most of the chances and played the better football....." and it wasn't the Liverpool Echo.

As you quite rightly say, injuries are sure to play their part as to which of these teams wins the title and IMHO Laporte would be as big a loss as Van Dijk looking at Stones and Otamendi yesterday.

One other aspect of the duel is that the Ox, Gomes and Lallana are now fit after missing most of last season so the squad does look stronger and there is the possibility that Sane might still leave for Bayern Munchen.

Despite it still being cricket weather I am looking forward to the new football season and of course being particularly interested in the performances of both Reading and Liverpool.
