Don't miss him as much as Siggy, but supposed to be off to WHU, Wolves also wanted him.

Freidel could soon exit Villa, new younger man needed

Brad Guzan imo is easily a good enough keeper to step up!

I personally think RFC missed Steve Sidwell a hell of a lot more than we'll ever miss Gylfi Sigurdsson.

For a starters, had SS stayed then we'd have been much more likely to stay up in our 2nd season in the Prem.

A Whest Ham supporter yesterday said that they were going for Steven Ireland instead of/as well as Sidders.

I'd have thought if he was going anywhere it'd be Fulham

Yeah, it surprised me - and I'd be surprised if Villa allowed both of them to go. They'd then have no cover in midfield.

I would have thought that Stephen Ireland would go North, rather than South, as one of the issues Houlier has with him is that he still lives in the Manchester area and commutes down to Brum.

Didn't know that - my Fulham suspicion is due to Sparky being down there

I would love Liverpool to sign Stephen Ireland for the lolz

Did I ever say it has any credibility? I don't consider him to be ITK - just reporting what he said.

Houllier said to the press that Sidders was having a medical at West Ham the other day (can't remember where I read it). Said Sidwell still lives in London so makes sense.

About to sign for Wolves on loan for the rest of the season - to add to the Reading 05/06 reunion going on there.

Today's Mirror are saying that Fulham are "leading" the race to sign Sidders.

VILLA'S Steve Sidwell seems about to sign a full contract with Fulham... and I wish him a lot of luck.

I had to tell Steve that for various reasons - none his fault - we had changed our mind about signing him on loan.

This was a filthy task but in the end it was decided that, with 13 midfielders and most of the injured about to return, we couldn't promise him regular first-team football and he'd hardly be in a better position than at Villa Park.
