Royal Rother Apparently post Christmas Arsenal are 3rd in the PL points won table behind Man City and Man Utd.

41pts from 22 games. 70 point season form.

Jeez, just goes to show how badly they started the season.

Yep 14 points from 14 games. With no Europe next year and if they make some decent signings, they will be in with a shout of being in the race for the top 4 at least.

So you don't think they'll be in the race for it? They've had a poor season but if they win their last 2 (quite probable given the opponents) they will only finish around 8 points off the CL pace. Take Europe out of the equation next year, so they'll only be playing once a week, and pretty easy to see they could be a lot closer next year.

I'm not saying they will make the CL, but they will be in the race along with a few other clubs next year - their form since Xmas suggests it.

If they win the next two - there's still a chance themselves of getting into Europe - only one point off Everton and Spurs

Is it 7th place or 8th that get that Europa Conference League?

I think its 7th, but it might depend on who wins what trophy.

No I do not. I think they are in decline, and are an unattractive team for the type of players they need

Ah, thanks - seems to be so many permutations given the new formats/Prem teams getting far in the European competitions

Gonna be a tough blow for the team who doesn’t get that spot as there’s generally been a top 8 these last few months, although perhaps the European Conference League will be of less interest to teams like Spurs

Oh dear.

A poor performance next Saturday lunchtime could see them bottom (ok, City will need 5, but Chelsea could have done that today if they’d gone for it)

That would be mightily impressive from the Premier League's biggest spenders.

What an absolute shambles of a club they are now. big club without a doubt but they`ve been managed appallingly over the last 10 years. if Norwich get a point they will be bottom tonight.

If Norwich score (which they have) and only lose by one then Arsenal are bottom anyway

To line up with a back three of Chambers, Holding and Kolasinac against a team like City asks for trouble

Started the first 5 minutes fairly strongly but gave away an extremely cheap goal and that was that really

I don't really pay them much attention but Arteta seems to have got the gooners playing pretty well, although still fairly toothless up front (admittedly against Virgil and Matip)

Martinelli was excellent

Wow. What a read that is. For every troglodyte in this game like Mason Greenwood, I hope there's someone as grounded and kind and thoughtful as Aaron Ramsdale. His 'football fan turned player' stuff was pretty obvious anyway, but can't help but root for the guy.
