Blatter under investigation

by exileinleeds » 27 May 2011 10:39

FIFA have announced they are to investigate Blatter.

Is there a more corrupt and not fit for purpose organisation than Fifa, and do you believe these investigations will remove corruption from the game?

More corrupt organisations? Can you include Governments and multi-national businesses?

There needs to be a revamp of FIFA much along the lines that the IOC underwent. Sadly, where there are people involved, there will always be corruption of one sort or another. Now, if the aim was to introduce more transparency into the running of FIFA...

We all know it will end in a big cover up. Panarama just underlined what a complete bunch of tossers are running FIFA. Just a bunch of greedy dirty slimy fat cats who are only in it to line there own pockets. I would love to know how much they all pocketed from the Russia and Qautar world cup bids.

It's like him investigating himself.

The whole organisation is just a bunch of self serving fat cats.

I actually think this is the end of the road for FIFA in its present state.

Irony that the greed and power hungry have been able to protect themselves from the media, their member associations, the players and the fans for so long but cannot protect themselves from each other.

Well done the FA for abstaining in the vote, the right call.

i Watched something a few years ago where a guy did a documentury on Blatter and claims of bribes accepted by him and fifa staff. It was very interesting but it all went away all to easily. should be looked at again in conjunction with the latest evidence against him and fifa. NEither he or bin hamann should have control of footballs governing body!!

FIFA would need to pay all of the Exectutive Committee around £2M each when they vote, with a fine of £20M and jail if they were ever found to have taken a bribe.

Otherwise the ability to attract bribes will always corrupt most of them.

IOC, same problem.

Totally justifies the FA announcing that they would abstain from voting for either candidate in the Presidential elections next week.

Blatter now unopposed for FIFA Presidency as Bin Hammam pulls out, saying that he didn't want "FIFA's name dragged through the mud anymore"

:D

As if THAT could happen!!!

Didn't he try and get someone to give him T&Ts gate money from a friendly over here not that long ago so he could "look after it"?

I'd just been assuming Warner is the one running the investigation.

...which clears the way for Blatter to be elected again, while "surprisingly" finding no evidence at all of corruption at the ethics committee hearing.

*shock* Qatar's bloke and *gasp* Jack Warner are to be investigated fully. Blatter does not have an investigation to answer apparently.

Looks like Sepp is hanging Warner out to dry as a fall guy, unsurprising given he's the most unbelievably obviously corrupt of the lot.

But look who Blatter has got to wield the knife in Warner's back; Chuck Brazier of the USA.

Who stands to gain most if Jack Warner is kicked out of his position as head of CONACAF? (Here's a clue - the USA are also in that Federation....)

Finally, what happens if Bin Hammam IS found guilty of corruptiuon? No 2022 for Qatar. Any bets for which country WOULD get it in there place? (Here's a clue - the USA have all the stadia already ready, according to a certain Mr C Brazier.....)

Cynical? Moi??

Seriously, you couldn't make it up could you?

The sooner FIFA is scrapped and a new governing body is constitued to run World football, the better.
