He's had a chance and has failed dismally in every single way.

This is General Football, let's keep Nigel Adkins out of this.

Not really. They're 7th and got to the Champions League quarter final

If RVP, Ferdinand, Vidic and Rooney had stayed fit for the whole season they would be even better

Every team suffers major injuries. That's no excuse. Rooney has been available for most of the season anyway.

A terrible decline in results, and position in the League table. Champions down to 7th. (It didn't have to be relegation to be a dismal failure in The League y'know!)

Terrible waste of money in the transfer market.

Unfathomable game strategies and team selections.

Lost the dressing room (by all accounts).

I'm not going to exercise my mind too much, but I really can't think of a single thing he hasn't failed in.

"They got to the Champions League quarter final"- that's like saying a team reached the second round of the FA Cup.
Heavily seeded in the group phase ,struggle through against a very weak Greek side and then go out the first time they get to play anybody decent.
"7th"-as if that is some achievement-since Palace appointed Pulis Man Utd have got just 3 points more than them this season.
The turnaround from last season is some 33 points and they spent around £50 million in the January transfer window plus about £40 million in the earlier one.

Your attempt at spin is one big fail just as it has been with Moyes and long may it continue.

Imagine the pay out...

£31.5M if he is paid up in full, which he almost certainly wont be as he doesnt work for abramovich

Will get around 1 year instead I expect

One of the bits of speculation I read said his failure to qualify for the Champion's League meant a 1-year pay-off.

Exactly.

Appoint Van Gaal and he still has only half a team.

No doubt that United need strengthening, every team does, but Moyes really has failed to produce a team that is greater than the sum of its parts. Completely and utterly out of his depth.

One of the papers this morning reported this after the Everton game:
When Moyes said United had produced outstanding football at Goodison, the perplexing thing is that he actually sounded like he meant it. When they were losing 2-0 and conspicuously short of ideas, his assistant, Steve Round, produced a ring binder entitled "set-pieces" and it was tempting to wonder whether they understood this club, with its history of spontaneous brilliance, and the first requirement of genuinely exciting football.

That all said, this talk of terminal decline is rubbish. Get a decent manager in and I'd wager a considerable sum that they'll finish top 4 next season.

Van Gaal would get RVP firing again, and would attract much better prospects that Moyes would to the club.
