Stranded Unsurprising rumours that Cocu will be gone at Derby if they lose tomorrow to be replaced by Rooney.

Rooney doesn't have his badges so will likely have Mike Phelan as #2 as he does.

Didn't they just have a decent result at Norwich? Seems extremely knee jerk to sack him so soon into the season. He did a decent job last season too.

Genuinely can't remember - did something happen at Derby to adjust expectations downward from Lampard getting them to the play-offs? They finished 10th last season, and never threatened to repeat that play-off showing. They were briefly 7th in April after a good run but then lost four of their last five - spent most the season near Reading in lower mid-table.

Didn't Fwank actually take them down a place?

Yeah, having lost a couple of handfuls of first teamers as costs were cut, including Ledley, Weimann, Vydra, Baird and Jerome, Lampard finished 6th in the Championship in his first season as a manager. I've genuinely no idea why people have so little time for Lampard. Seems a decent fella, unpretentious, driven.

He's a privately educated tory who played for Chelsea and you're surprised he's not popular on here?

Their best player drunkenly crashed his car and did a runner, leaving the club captain in the back with a busted leg. The club captain then got sacked for being paid too much.

Any excuse to get Rooney in charge, him becoming manager at some point is inevitable

Yep, the media are itching to be able to rename Derby "Wayne Rooney's Derby County"...

Richie Wellens set to take over at Salford

Wonder if our friend Noel will get the gig at Swindon?

For the record Graham Coughlan parted company with Mansfield a week or so ago and Mike Jackson left Tranmere at the weekend.

Ryan Giggs may well also see his managership of Wales curtailed in the next day or two.

Rumours of conflict between Wellens and Power (their chairman)

Doyle and Yates scored something like 50 goals combined last season IIRC so that was a huge loss for them and they’re struggling in league one

Still, depending on if this idea of a “conflict” is true, think it’s a bit of a strange move, especially considering how harshly Alexander was treated at Salford

Garry Monk sacked. Seems a bit harsh given how quickly he's turned around the points deduction.

0 points from Luton, Rotherham and Wycombe in successive games was probably too much

Given where they were at Christmas last year (I.e 3rd place) to end up finishing 16th was really poor and I’m surprised he lasted this long
