genome Bruce: “I think it might be my last job. It has been very, very tough. To never really be wanted, to feel that people wanted me to fail & saying I would fail, that I was useless, a fat waste of space, a tactically inept cabbage head”

I genuinely thought you'd made this up.....

He's right. Newcastle fans are the absolute pinnacle of twatitude - all they wanted was him to fail. I hate Newcastle but I loved it every time they won under him as it would annoy the fat cry babies.

Got a 8 mill pay off. Seems like a good gig to me. I could take being called a fat cabbage head for two years if I were to be paid 8 mill at the end of it.

Agree on the Bruce sympathy thing. Though until about 2 weeks ago when he spoke out about the abuse he has received and how it affects him and his family, no one gave a sh*t.

I'd rather not be and still get the £8M.

When Dier scored that own goal on Sunday to make it 2-3, I actually sensed the Newcastle fans were a bit disappointed at the prospect of nicking a draw

Bruce’s record by club

July 17, 2019 – present
Days in charge: 826
P97 W28 D28 L41
Win ratio: 28.9%

Sheffield Wednesday
February 1, 2019 – July 15, 2019
Days in charge: 165
P18 W7 D8 L3
Win ratio: 38.9%

Aston Villa
October 12, 2016 – October 3, 2018
Days in charge: 721
P102 W46 D25 L31
Win ratio: 45.1%

Hull City
June 8, 2012 – July 22, 2016
Days in charge: 1482
P201 W82 D44 L75
Win ratio: 40.8%

Sunderland
June 3, 2009 – November 30, 2011
Days in charge: 882
P98 W29 D28 L41
Win ratio: 29.6%

Wigan
26 November 26, 2007 – June 3, 2009
Days in charge: 589
P68 W23 D17 L28
Win ratio: 33.8%

Birmingham
December 12, 2001 – November 23, 2007
Days in charge: 2168
P270 W100 D70 L100
Win ratio: 37%

Crystal Palace
May 31, 2001 – November 2, 2001
Days in charge: 154
P18 W11 D2 L5
Win ratio: 61.1%

Wigan
April 4, 2001 – May 29, 2001
Days in charge: 88
P8 W3 D2 L3
Win ratio: 37.5%

Huddersfield
May 24, 1999 – October 16, 2000
Days in charge: 511
P66 W25 D16 L25
Win ratio: 37.9%

Sheffield United
July 2, 1998 – May 17, 1999
Days in charge: 219
P54 W22 D15 L17
Win ratio: 40.7%

Overall record
P1000 W376 D255 L369 Win ratio: 37.6%

Premier League record
P477 W133 D132 L212 Points: 531 PPG: 1.11 Win ratio: 27.9%

37.6% win ratio over 1000 games isn't bad by any means.

Half his career (477 games) spent in the bottom half of the Prem with a 27.9% win rate. Averaging that record over a season of 38 games, he'd have ended up with 10.6 wins, 10.5 draws and 16.9 losses, or rounded 11-10-17, so 43 points per season in the Prem.

His non-Prem record is actually pretty good:
P523 W243 D123 L157 Win Ratio: 46.4% (obvs this includes cup matches)

Pepe the Horseman
Simmops
Pepe the Horseman I'm hoping DD was joking.

I am not. He deserves more respect.

7 wins in 38 games. 0 in 9 this season. He deserved nothing but the sack.

Tbf Saint Maximin and Wilson aside, their squad is one of the weaker ones in the league, very little else there

Was dealt with a poor hand, but didn’t help himself, the £40 million signing of Joelinton really counts against him too and given the consistent backlash against him, there really was only one outcome

Surely time up for Adkins - started really poorly this season, lot of fans calling for his head after last night

Cowley in trouble too at Pompey, time to pull the plug after conceding to Aluko

Maybe helped by Watford and / or Leeds being in the division at the time but wasn't the average tenure for a manager a few years ago in The Championship just 11 months?

Think OMA was spot on about Adkins - would be ideal for youth coaching

Relentless positivity after a 3-2 home defeat to Accrington Stanley probably won’t cut it with 32 year olds that have been around the block
