Dave Whelan was just on the radio and said that Bill Kenwright phoned him last friday to ask permission to speak with Martinez which Whelan gave

Hughes is heavily linked with Stoke. for their fans.

Hughes did well at Fulham though, so not sure why people are saying Stoke will be in trouble

QPR had too many ego's, not even Redknapp could deal with them

Agreed, take QPR out (and there are plenty of mitigating circumstances there) and he has a more than respectable managerial record.

I saw this fact

Of the 47 bosses to manage over 100 PL games for a single club, only two have a lower win ratio than Martinez (25%)

So he struggled to keep a Wigan side up with limitied resources, how does he expect to get Everton challenging for Europe with limited resources?!

Because their resources are less limited?

Yes but still limited enough to make qualification into Europe a hard task - unless Everton would just be happy with mid-table every season

I'm surprised he's not rock bottom of that stat given that they've narrowly escaped relegation repeatedly for the past few years.

Statues of former Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez have been made in the Italian city of Naples following his appointment as manager of Napoli.

Already a better reception than what Chelsea gave him for winning them the UEFA cup and a European cup place next season

Bit OTT erecting a statue already. I thought it was only Liverpool who idolised people so easily, then get egg on their face when they get the sack or piss off to a bigger club.

They're miniatures made in a shop it's not as if it's being put up in the middle of the city.
