Just. LOL.

How many games did Newcastle win when he was in charge?

Talks didn't go well and he's no longer in the running - Shearer.

Shearer: "I want a 5 year, £50k per week contract, with a £5M bonus if we get promoted to the Premier League and with free rein to bring in as many of my mates as part of my backroom staff on long contracts as I want, with a guaranteed transfer war chest of £40M a season, and I want Cardiff to change their strip to black & white stripes".

Cardiff: "No"

Shearer: "If I go into management I'm not looking to be a short-term fix. Can you guarantee that the club will not go into Administration in the next 12 months."

Cardiff: "No"

At the end of the day, football punditry has been the loser.

The man is deluded. If he wants to go into management he could at least look at the examples set by the likes of Martin O'Neill and Brian Clough. Even our own BMcD. Start low down, learn the ropes and then move up.

I'm sure there was a lot of Shearers 'big I am' involved in this one and there was no way he'd risk his arm chair fans reputation on a peanuts contract at Cardiff.

Until Shearer gets into a job and cocks up (which I've a pretty good hunch he will) he'll still have his reputation to fall back.

It's going to take a lot to get him off the match of the day sofa.

But can you blame him? Decent money, no pressure....

Nope, can't blame him really.

I'd rather he put his money where his mouth is though or just did what Hansen has done as said he isn't interested in management because he'd rather play golf and talk rubbish on the telly!
