Victor Meldrew
double d Yeah great way to manage...... have a go at your players for getting injured, Maybe he needs to look at his training methods as to why they are getting injured

Perhaps he should get a doctor in to help with all this...............oh, Jose and doctors, maybe not.

The way Jose treats his players in public is rather odd.

Pretty much every other manager looks to protect and support their players in front of the media and public but Jose seems to go out of his way to create friction and hand a few out to dry.

Can that really work long term? Hasn't he lost the support of the players at pretty much every club he's been at?

Shaw, Smalling and Jones could be good, relatively cheap, signings for someone this summer though.

that's the accusation that has followed him round. I get calling out players to motiv8 them to work harder, but just sniping at them through the media is childish, they also have m8's in the dressing room he does want to keep onside and that may come back to bite him in the backside (Chelsea physio anyone?)

Jones is literally always injured...
68 league games in the last 5 seasons
i.e. 13 games per season

Shaw really hasn't been the same since
breaking his leg (i still rate him tho)

Yeah, maybe a fair shout on Jones and I can't remember him having any serious injuries, just a run of niggles and less significant knocks he hasn't come back from very quickly. That's a bit more worrying than a year out with a bad break or ACL but you wonder how much it's a weakness and much it's avoidable.

Shaw is still very young and a very good prospect. I wonder if there's a physiological issue there though, but under a manager who can get more out of him you'd think he could bounce back from this season quite easily. Liverpool need a left back and you could imagine Klopp sorting him out (can't imagine it happening though).

Looks like he's starting on the supporters now.

"Did the supporters know it [that the players were struggling]?" Mourinho asked.

"Because if they know it, and they think about it, they would be more supportive of the players who give everything, deserve everything and are at their limits.

Yeah, be more supportive of the players. Can't be easy giving 100% when you're managed by an obnoxious, divisive cnut.

Possibly top 5 too.

Jose's doing a great job but what's he got that the preceding managers were sacked for lacking? Lol

A sponsorship deal with Liptons? Joel Glazer likes an iced tea at half time apparently.

Liverpool, United, City and Arsenal have all been equally shite this year

United may fluke CL qual by winning the EL...then it's up to whoever
fcuks up the least between the other three. Most likely that City and
Liverpool will be joining Chelsea and Spurs.

Not sure winning a European trophy can be classed as fluking a CL place, when that has been the prize on offer all season for it.

Much as I am not a fan of Utd or Mourinho, he clearly seems to have taken the call to prioritise winning the EL rather that finishing in the top 4.

I think a lot of Utd fans would take a 6th place finish, 2 cup wins and a place in the CL at the moment.

One thinks ajax will beat them. They looked lethal vs Lyon and have a very exiting young team

Cheers. Let's just hope the Manchester side go into it thinking it's already won

Is the CL place gained by winning the EL a bye into the group stages, or qualifying round?

Another embarrassing interview yesterday with Mourinho who thought his team had played well.
If the old fat boy and the young big hope hadn't been so greedy they might have got something out of the game against an Arsenal side lacking in confidence but they forgot that it is a team game.
Oh well, on to their regular Thursday night slot (they have spent years and years mocking other clubs for being in that competition)-jammy buggers that they are for this season having the chance of a CL spot.

When Pogba stepped down from Italian football to sign for Man Utd I wonder if he thought the League Cup and Europa League would be all that they might be in contention for.
I wonder if he now wishes he had gone to a top European club on the pitch rather than one of the top earning clubs off it.
