Hendo
LUX One nil United.

Come on Villa, do it for everyone not from Manchester*.

*satire klaxon.

Ps on Radio 5 the Grealish love-in is annoying

Pps Mark Lawrenson, retire now ffs.

Thought Lawro had retired, surely it’s time.

Well the Beeb are not renowned for retiring people off when they should

Only watched the first half and was really impressed with the Villa.
Once again Man Utd although looking far from being a top side found a way to win as they have done on a number of occasions this season (except in Europe of course).

I wonder what will happen with Pogba -he is some player when on his game and we had all that talk from his agent about him not wanting to be in Manchester so hopefully he will leave.

which isn't all that often, unfortunately. I'm not bothered if he goes...had enough of the drama

Hope he does well at his next club and is replaced with Grealish

Will admit to not watching last night's match and only following reports, but sounds like United are still a little way off consistently challenging for trophies.

In many senses though, Solksjaer has made good progress in 2 years. Is he that far off what Klopp was achieving after 2 years at Liverpool? I guess the difference was Klopp had done it before at Dortmund, where beating Bayern to the title is massive. Solksjaer has achieved relatively little by comparison. Still think he deserves a decent crack though.

Was a relatively even game from what I saw with set pieces being the difference, both teams slightly blunt in attack. Not sure they're too far off, a conventional striker in Cavani was just what they needed and they missed his impact last night. Do think they're desperate for two FB's, especially an improvement on AWB who really does look out of his depth in an improving United side

Never know what to make of Fred either, his harrying and hassling off the ball is useful but his ball retention is erratic at best

So Brobot that's 2 of the quadruple now gone or are you now going to substitute the competition that big clubs don't take part in, the Europa League?

City were IMHO quite a lot better than them last night with Gundogan and De Bruyne running the show.
As URRRZZZZ said, the two full-backs at Man Utd are not up to much-what has happened to Telles who was yet another expensive buy to fill that left-back position?

As for that little fat boy Shaw, what was all that trying to be 'ard stuff all about?
A poor loser and a poor player, he deserved his booking and why wasn't Martial booked for diving?.

Mickey-mouse competition, big clubs are in for the big competitions such as the Champions League (again).
You know, the one that your lot have won just one more time than Nottingham Forest.

It's bigger for LFC, they have to win otherwise they'll be down to third if MC win their games in hand

Not sure that's the case about it being bigger for the superior Reds but an important game for both clubs.

The daft thing is that ,although these games are talked up, Championships are often decided by how a team plays against a lesser side, e.g. Liverpool away at Palace near the end of the season under Rodgers.

'greed! Doesn't really matter who you take the three points of as long as you're doing it regularly

It's bigger for you in that you'll be 6points behind us and potentially 5 behind City if we beat you

Not insurmountable but challenging!

Think both sides would be quite happy with a point and move on.

In the grand scheme of things, blowing the 3-0 lead against Palace was pretty irrelevant as it still in City's hand regardless of the result there. Admittedly, it went from being probable to City winning the league to almost definite but that game really didn't signify too much

City one point behind now

If results go the wrong way for LFC this weekend they could be down to 5th

Could the UNTHINKABLE happen? What a SHOCK it would BE for the BEST team in the last THREE seasons to not win the league :o
