Royal Rother I like your balanced input but that one’s a bit nuts.

United have been playing the likes of Mata and Lingard out on the right wing where they have been truly dogshit. Coupled with Ashley Young the right side has been totally ineffectual. Beckham would struggle to do worse

Beckham is a bit one dimensional and suited to the long ball game.

United's first eleven genuinely looks dogshit.

Four players away from competing from top four

How much? £200m?

Will they trust Ole with that much?

Will they be able to attract 4 players of the calibre needed to mount a challenge?

Dunno...but you're prolly right with the 200M

CB - someone like Maguire is about £70M
CM - Bruno Fernades £50M
CM - A.N. Other £40M
RW - dunno £40

Current best team...

Surprised Utd (or someone else) hasn't gone in for Malcom. Was raved about the season before last as being the best player in france outside of PSG. Went to Barca at the last minute as one of their transfers fell through and they needed squad numbers, wasnt given much of a chance and is now looking to leave. Only 22 years old now.

17-year-old Mason Greenwood will be part of the first-team squad next year

18-year-olds Gomez, Chong and Garner look promising but need Championship loans

Gomez has captained England at under-16, under-17 and under-18 levels.

A number of promising England youth (from various clubs) on the cusp of breaking into first teams this season...looking forward to it!

You’ll win nothing with youngsters.

Seriously, I hope they do get given a proper chance to learn, grow, shine in the 1st team.

But they won’t.

Mason Greenwood will be in the reckoning...not sure on the others

He sat Skriniar on his arse a couple of times (I know, pre-season)

Pretty certain I've said this before but from an England perspective Gomez is one I've been interested in since the U-17's World Cup win.

He wasn't even in England's first choice 11 for that tournament but like Loader featured and starred when the "shadow team" was used. Primarily though what impressed me was that he was that rarity amongst English midfielders, a genuinely creative passer of the ball.

Absolutely needs to start playing first team football sooner rather than later.

Gomez just scored the winner against Spurs in a pre-season game.

Passed it in from a very acute angle on the left!

Based on pre-season Gomez should defo be starting before Mata.

Very composed, can dribble well and a great passer

Amazing that Man Utd have paid more for Mr Slow Maguire than Liverpool paid for Van Dijk.
Also how unambitious of Maguire to go to a club that aren't anywhere near Champions League potential and will probably only be fighting it out with Arsenal for that 5th spot this season.

Presumably Herrera and Lukaku are pleased to be moving to teams in the Champions League.

An observation that could have been aimed at anyone signing for Liverpool not so long ago.

What comes around goes around.

Nice though when it is currently not happening to our country's richest club.
Almost as good as when they were relegated.

The decision to pass on Dybala due to excessive wages and lack of enthusiasm is, for me, a sign Man Utd have learned from recent mistakes and are moving in the right direction. A quality player undoubtedly, but could easily have been a repeat of Di Maria and Sanchez.

You can baulk at the fees they have spent this summer, but these are young, hungry players who will contribute to a good atmosphere. Another few years of this and they may start to close the gap.
