Woman's World Cup...

by seahawk10 » 05 Jul 2011 18:45

Is there a thread in General Football that I have missed? Is everyone too ashamed to admit they are watching this? I wanted to make an 'England is saved by a Yankey' but apparently the joke is on me.

I saw part of the second half. Huge lol at the co-commentator who said that the Japanese players were too honest by not taking a tumble when they could have got 2 or 3 pens.

Saw a bit of the 2nd half.

Who is that commentator? He does a lot of eurosport stuff, and must be the least excitable man on the planet. It's like listening to a match being commentated on by Keith from The Office.

There was a banner at one of the games which said something along the lines of: "I HOPE you won't leave me SOLO - marry me"

I'm looking forward to Brazil v Equatorial Guinea tomorrow!

Saw the highlights on BBC2 last night. Keown has had a hair transplant too.

Our central defenders are too slow, and our strikeforce could squat, pee and miss the ground

And then there are the ladies

Very entertaining. Sweden were well worth their win last night. The 'Ibrahimovic' that they had up front - Lotta Schelin - was better than the real thing! Very impressive. The US' back four was squarer than a box in the first half and so slow that Alex Pearce would not have looked out of place. Brazil next and they may regret not getting a draw out of this one.

Laugh out loud at the officials! I wonder if they have any idea of the rules.

England's second Vs Japan was so off-side that you wonder if the Refs assisstant didn't flag because it was so obvious.

Australia Vs Equatorial Guinea game: Aussie lobs keeper, hits post, ball bounces across goal, defender picks it up, Aussie looks shocked, defender drops ball, Aussie appeals to ref, ref does nothing.

The single most hilarious thing I have seen on a football pitch, including David James' hairstyles, since the Zaire defender came steaming out of a defensive wall to hoof a Brazilian freekick 70 yds downfield in the 74 WC.

That must be one BIG England forward! (Or one very small Jap defender)

Some decent penalties. Is it me or is our keeper off her line way early for these?

Typical England, bottled the last two penalties. French lass to score the winner was stunning though.
