Supposedly to help the Jock teams that are in Europe more time to get up to full speed before their Europa league qualifying fixtures. Didn't do Dundee United much good though.

I thought it was to gain "some" attention when no other meaningful football is going on. Hasn't worked for me tbf.

I thought it was so they had a winter break? So that Scottish teams/fans didn't have too travel in the harshest of coniditons.

The sort of conditions that conveniently bracketed last season's winter break?

Suppose the SPL is on a par with the Championship.

My understanding was that the sponsers wanted to start it earlier to get more people viewing their league as its the only football on at the mo

The FLC is more interesting than the SPL. An utterly gash standard of football where average to pants Championship players stand out and win trophies. Do me a favour!

Well two to four of the clubs are, the rest are about League Two standard.

Really? You think he learnt nothing from Smith? Current evidence suggests not I suppose but surely Rangers and Celtic are two of the easiest teams to manage in the world..?

I think it would be like Jamie cureton managing reading after a while in the assistant managers role. He could come good, but I think he has too much passion and emotion rather than tactical knowledge wisdom like smith. Lennon is just a straight motivator for celtic, also lacks a lot of tactical knowledge. The standard of managers and players has declined massively in recent years in scotland.

Mcoist is not up to the job. It says something when Kenny Miller would rather go to Cardiff than Ibrox.
