Who's pretending that?

Anyway, thanks for pointing out it was an old-fashioned atmosphere. Must have been ok then. Nothing better than going to a football match with a nasty hostile feeling in the air, fearing for your safety and hearing vile chants all through the game.

Great memories eh?

No one on here.

Just a few weeks ago the debate was about how far the attitude to football fans has changed since another infamous day at Hillsborough and the aftermath where all football fans were treated as one and the same and how things was so much better :| As for 'old fashioned atmosphere' of course i didn't mean vile chants but more the passion etc rather than the artificial one at the 'MAD STAD'

I would rather have what happened at Hillbrough the other night than the manufactured childrens party atmosphere we have at the Madejski.

Can't believe he got 4 months. Surely the stewards and police's fault?

I'm surprised there wasn't any fences up behind the goal to stop the fans getting on to the pitch

Cawley reckons he'd drunk three or four cans of lager, 3/4 litre of vodka and nearly 10 pints of cider before the game. And claims he remembers nothing (except how much he drank of course)

Bollocks. He'd be in hospital. No-one seems to have questioned it though.

Yeah great!

I miss the old days of ducking in the Southbank as parts of the town end flew over and the adrenalin rush that goes with a hostile atmosphere but that was then and this is now. There were kids caught up in that at Hillsboro the other night in fact one of them was hit on the head by the advertising hoarding that the Leeds fans kicked down from the upper tier.

If it was your child that you had just introduced to the beautiful game then maybe the old fashioned atmosphere would feel a little different.

Scroll down to the ninth post and look at the fear and upset in that little lads face! That is not a good atmosphere, old fashioned or not.

Although in 15 years that little lad will be on a football message board giving it large about what it was like when Wednesday played Leeds in 2012 and how the atmosphere "these days" isn't a patch on what it was in the old days.

A few comments:

Definite would on his mrs, despite her being chavvy as all heck.

That conversation under the brother's status is mind-boggling. How can people be so blase about going to prison, or is that just the middle-class side of me coming out there?

Interesting to see that he turned himself in rather than what was reported in the media, a case of making our little boys in blue look better than they really are or villifying Aaron? Similarly, they suggest he hadn't been banned at the time...

Why has his girlfriend taken £800 in for him to take into prison (other than "just coz he can" of course)? Is this standard prison practice or is this just going to be taken by which ever huge nutcase makes him his bitch? Seems odd.

Finally, it's a touch surprising that not even one of them could point out that he was a little silly in his actions, blind support for a loved one of course, but you'd think one of them would go "he brought it on himself". Most seem to be looking forward to it all being over. Will he have learned his lesson? Well, from the looks of that the culture he is returning to will simply reinforce his previous behaviour...

Makes me laugh how people seem to think everyone in prison is a gay rapist

There is more chance of you getting bummed down Broad Street than in the type of prison he'll go to
