Seeing what happens to QPR in the next few months could make it one of the most enjoyable or frustrating pre-seasons ever.

Will they pay up or not? To see them sink to The Conference (or below) would make my year.

On the other hand, if they are allowed to get away with not paying their dues under FFP then I think I'd just give up entirely on the pro game.

See you at Didcot or somewhere next season then.

I suspect they will be allowed somehow to spread the previous overspend over 3 seasons and escape the fine. They will probably need to dump loads of players and rebuild with free transfers but at least they would survive.
If they did get excluded from the FL then they'd not be missed.
Why are they planning a 40k stadium ?

Hilarious / astonishing that in trying to cloud their losses under FFP in their most recent accounts QPR tried to show loans of £60m written off by Mittal / Fernandes as Income!

Equally amazing that, as the club are facing a fine of £50m they and their auditors did not see fit to mention this in the published accounts.

Last season their wage bill in the Championship was £77.3m - Derby's, who they beat in the play off final, was just £13m.

Interestingly, despite the £60m of loans written off, their debt actually increased last year by £5m and now stands at £205m.

They truly are a basket case. But we all know they'll get off one way or the other and be competing against us next season on unequal terms. I'm with you RR, in that this could be the end for me and football. I could easily live without it on Sky, but because the bastards know I love the other sports too, I am stuck with subsidising the players income.

They went down faster than one of fat Tony's planes. He hasn't been seen around QPR for a while which makes e think he has finally had enough of chucking money at that crap.

You been waiting 3 months to post that? Secretly giggling the moment you hit submit?

Besides I am sure mr Fernandes had other pressing issues to deal with.

That is one of the most unpleasant posts I've ever read on this board.

Disgusting.

I'm sure his weight problems are merely due to his glands.

QPR issue statement today confirming they are challenging the leaglity of the FFP rules. Confirmed they have been in talks for some time but neither side will make any further statement until an agreement has been reached.

I wonder what obligation the FL. have to accept QPR anyway.
Whether the rules are 'legal' is one of the hing, but there is no dispute that QPR massively overspent and deliberately flouted the rules as they were understood at the time, and made no efforts to challenge them.
Are the other Championship clubs obliged to accept relegated sides or could they decline to accept QPR, perhaps offering their place to the team finishing 4th from bottom in the PL.

No, they will drop to Conference if the FL don't accept them, from what I hear. No need to punish another team because of QPR's mismanagement. No way that'll happen though, they'll wriggle out of it somehow.
