Hoop Blah You should've gone on strike.

Way ahead of you mate:

Notice the empty home and away end (with a token few fans to hang up banners) and pickets on the terrace entrance. 8)

Although that was over reduced ticket allocations for Rostock fans when they threw flares into the away end in the away leg.

TBM We have the likes of Maidenhead and Basingstoke we can use to bed our younger players into first team football.....if we were allowed to send more "on loan" their, it could essentially be our B team and will also benefit the clubs receiving the players

melonhead Would.prefer teams to just continue using the loan system
Good for prem teams, good for young players, good for lower league teams

Stockpiling doesn't matter if they're being loaned elsewhere

Well it does, because it means the wealth associated to the player accumulates at the big clubs.

Maybe the answer is to have a quota for English players in the starting line-up - It's been talked about before, but it's watered down with English replaced with home produced players of any nationality... still, that might be enough.

The overall quality of the Premier League may go down, but as long as all sides are affected equally then it will still be a top league and the best players will shine even more.... the problem is, the Premier League only cares about the Premier League as an international product.

Would player salary caps/standard wages help? - Why sign for Man City reserves as 5th choice keeper when you could sign as Palaces no 1 on the same wages?

If the England manager was to lead by example and pick players who play regularly from unfashionable clubs that might signal a change and send a message to English players to move where you get regular football and not where you get the highest salary.

Sorry? What was that Green?

But no, no they're not. The stats look reasonably bad and the need to sensationalise a relative non-story and create a need for change after change keeps a lot of people out of zero hour contracts and all the evils therein.

Stupid idea. All you need to do is cap the number of foreigners ( non English ) in clubs starting 11s to 5 so that means on the field of play there must always be at least 6 English players (the definition of English being, born in England or having an English parent) in any one side.

Unfortunately I think the EU may have something to say about that.

I note that somebody said in the HYS on that bbc article something about hockey clubs having multiple teams in regional leagues. That's completely irrelevant, hockey is mostly an amateur sport, it's not like those clubs stockpile their 5/6 teams with professional players.....

Definitely

Not sure UK law would allow other British nationals to be treated in this way either.

The Prem & Chump teams should adopt a feeder club from div 2 & conference.

We could adopt Oxford Utd  , and when we slip down the leagues with our financial plight could merge into one Thames Valley Superclub
.........err oh dear
