Franchise FC
Kitsondinho Hull simply have to win at Wembley now........I cannot face Wednesday in the PL!!!

As long as they say 'We are where we deserve to be' rather than 'Back where we belong', then I'm not bothered.

It's the sense of entitlement that always bugs me. If they go up they'll have deserved it, not because they have some divine right.

Don't they sing "we're on our way back"?

Can't remember them singing about belonging there.

I thought it was a cracking game last night but still feel that the play-off system is wrong and only ever came in to generate even more money from the fans.
As when we finished second to 'Boro I always feel sorry for the team that finishes below the promoted sides having been in a league competition all season then having to enter a knock-out competition.

Last night showed how much they missed Lewis Dunk in the last league game (the crucial one at 'Boro) and the first leg of the play-offs .
I'm not sure how the officials missed the blatant push by Hooper for the goal-no, correction, it was no surprise that the officials missed.............

disagreed. The play-offs are gr8 for football/neutrals/the team that wins.

It's just that RFC are pisspoor at them.

The play offs are good as it gives something for the mid-table teams to fight for.

I wonder if 3rd place should go straight to the final though.

for 3 of the 4 teams involved the play offs seem awful, for everyone else they are pretty much the best part of the season

Or.....

3rd hosts 6th in a one off game.
4th hosts 5th in a one of game.

3rd or 4th or 5th at home in the one off final vs 4th or 5th or 6th.

Oh no how silly of me, the clubs and the football league prefer the £££££-making opportunity of two-legged ties and not least a one off game at Wembley.....and all the commercial opportunity which comes with that, which of course is denied the actual best two teams in the division who have gone up automatically :|

what about the entire league being a play off at the end of the season?

24th plays 23rd, winner goes to 22nd to play, winner goes to 21st to play etc.

3rd goes straight to the final

4th vs 7th in a one off QF
5th vs 6th in a one off QF

Winner of both of those in a one off SF

Why are Brighton fans going on about how "proud" they are with their performance last night?

They didn't even win the standalone match!

Posted this on the European leagues thread, but in Belgium, 16-team top division, places 7th to 14th enter a Europa league playoff.

What if 3rd finishes level with 4th on points and just has 1 goal better GD ? all the arguements still apply. and why should the 7th placed team get involved all of a sudden ? 7th - that is serious mid table stuff !

It's fine as it is.
Everyone knows that the top 2 go up. And then 4 teams who weren't good enough to finish in the top 2 get a second chance through a playoff in which the teams that finished higher get the better of the format.

A whole regiment. Disbanded. Due to poo-poo.

Tbh m8 I agree with you, leave the play-offs as it is. Was just putting forward an 'Alternative Vote' option. I bet the REMAIN campaign would like an 'AV' system actually: "I vote LEAVE....what is my second choice? Erm.....REMAIN.....SH*T!" REMAIN wins on second choices :!:

Talk to just about any Wednesday fan for more than a minute or two and three phrases will enter the conversation
1) Too big for the Championship
2) A massive club
3) Bigger than Leeds
If you mention our beloved RFC you'll get
4) You have no history
5) The PL isn't for the likes of you.
The sense of entiltlement from them, Forest and Derby drives me nuts....admittedly I do live right in the middle of all 3 fan bases......So I am desperate for Hull to go up!
