Winston Biscuit Didn't watch it but can I assume England fans are unhappy as they decided we are much better than we are, that the opposition were rubbish and we should be easily beating them and that we were terrible to watch?

England fans are the Newcastle of the international stage

Agreed. England fans really are the pits. There were jeers and boos at around 15 minutes as we patiently passed it around at the back.

Before last night we had won 12 consecutive competitive games at Wembley, dating back to a 1-1 draw with Ukraine on 12th September 2012. We haven't lost a competitive game at home for 10 years.

MC Grinder What's the problem with the transition to the national team that make players look average?

Or they are just average at international level and its highlighted without their much better foreign clubmates to make them look good.

I for one can't believe Jake Livermore didn't look like a world beater when he was put in a team of only Englishmen that was managed by Gareth Southg8!

That.^

When Harry Kane gets the ball and looks up at Spurs, he sees Dele Alli making a run, and Eriksen or Dembele providing an option ahead of the through ball. Last night Alli kept making those runs but was relying on a through-ball from Oxlade Chamberlain, who was like a human pinball machine.

Basically, yeah.

England turned up and expected Slovakia to play of a 0-0 draw. Slovakia went, nah, we'll get in your faces and try to win. England froze like a rabbit in headlights. The slowly managed to reassert themselves, played their intended game, with gradually increasing competence, and won in the end as they should have done anyway.
